“mmm, fuuuck, you’re a feisty one, aren’tcha, doll?”
you didn’t know what you were signing up for when you decided to spar with the 11th of the fatui harbingers. in fact, you were more forced to spar with him than of your own volition. he thought you were pretty, and he thought you would look even prettier pinned underneath him, panting and begging within an inch of your life.
what ajax didn’t expect, however, was to be flipped on his back with you straddling atop him, hands closed tightly around his neck. he also didn’t expect that it would feel so good.
blood drips from your forehead and your lip is swollen from one to many punches to the face, but fuck you look so beautiful. “you gonna kill me or what?”
“shut up,” you grunt, squeezing harder. “shut up, shut up, shut up.”
you’re driving him damn near insane. you look angry and feral, and it’s a look that only the most determined of warriors wear during battle.
as of right now, you’re determined to kill him, or at least make him give up. the thing is, you’ve clearly underestimated the man who calls himself the 11th fatui harbinger.
“are you… hard?” something big and firm protrudes through his trousers, and he looks up at you, lips cracking into a smile.
“right on the money, angel.” his hips thrust upwards once, his mind growing hazy at the buzz of adrenaline flowing through his veins. “you gonna squeeze tighter? i’m quite liking this.”
you scowl at him. “you’re disgusting, tartaglia.”
“it’s ajax, baby,” he manages to say through his lack-of-oxygen induced haze. “you gonna call me that while you’re chokin me out?”
god, you hate him. god, god god, you want him dead, but you can’t suppress the feeling of victory washing over you. you managed to make a harbinger hard, and all you had to do was threaten to kill him. “why would i give you that pleasure?”
“you seem to be happy enough sittin’ on my dick and trying to kill me, baby, the least you could do is call me by my real name, no?” he has no bargaining chips here, especially since you might actually kill him cold turkey. “move your hips for me.”
“you’re in no position to be making orders.”
“and you’re in a good enough position to get grinding.” when you swivel your hips in the slightest, his hands twitch, trying his hardest not to grip your ass under your skirt desperately. who even wears a skirt to a fight? “hurry it up. i’m starting to get bored.”
this guy. he’s so fucking annoying, but you can’t help but clench around nothing at the way he looks up at you, eyes hooded and lip quirked up in a smirk as he tries to move his hips to no avail, and suddenly, you’re left with two options;
option one: get the fuck off of him and run as far as humanely possible in the hopes that he won’t catch up to you.
option two: fuck him, and fuck him.
it’s a good thing that in situations like these, you like to think primarily with your pussy and not your head.
“ajax!”
“that’s it angel, fuck, you’re doin’ such a good job.”
your skirt is abandoned somewhere in the sparring ring and your breasts spill out of your shirt as you bounce in his lap, eyes squeezed shut and hands latched around his neck, nails digging into its supple flesh.
oh, he’s liking this. you swear he grows two times bigger every time you squeeze on his neck, and your eyes roll into the back of your head as his tip bumps your cervix. this is the deepest position possible, and he’s hitting you just right, despite being delirious from the lack of oxygen flowing to his brain from your hands around his neck.
when you decided to fuck him, he gave you one order and one order only; hold on tight. and damn did he give you the ride of your life, because you’re twitching atop him, hands attaching and detaching from his neck as you struggle to keep your consciousness afloat.
whilst your hands stay wound around his bruised neck, his hands are seemingly everywhere. one moment he’s squeezing your tits through your torn shirt and the next he’s spanking your ass, warning you that he’s going to speed up and that you need to hold on tighter unless you want to fall off.
“ ‘m close-!” you warn him of your impending orgasm, hands trembling around his neck as he starts to deepen his thrusts. you can barely focus on the look of his face, but the bastard is smiling, his own eyes starting to flutter shut as he starts to see dark spots clouding his vision. ajax is about to pass out, but he doesn’t even deserve such a luxury without feeling you cum all over his cock.
with what little strength he has left in his arms, he slides his hand from your ass to your clit and gives it tight little slaps, eyes urging you to cum as his mouth drops open in ecstasy. this feeling, having you not only squeeze his throat but his cock too, has him delirious, and he totally thinks he could become completely addicted.
“cum f’me, angel. come on, c’mon, i wanna fucking feel it, baby…” he uses the last of the oxygen in his lungs to give you one final command, and as ajax blacks out, he feels you squirt on it, plastering your juices all over the floor of the sparring ring before collapsing on top of him.
in his newly (and partially short lived) vegetative state, his cock pumps you full, his seed leaking out of the creases in your cunt. it takes a couple of seconds for you to come to, and when you do, you’re faced with a sprawled out ajax on the floor, eyes just closed and lips parted gently.
you panic momentarily because you think you’ve actually killed him, until you see those damn lips of his stretch into a smile. “thank you doll.”
you’re definitely not sparring with this freak again.

black magic [01]
REQUEST. arranged marriage + enemies to lovers (sukuna is a simp and lowkey a housewife)
CONTENT/WARNINGS. some suggestive scenes, but overall fluff and romance! slight crack fic, I guess? I was laughing when I wrote this lol
NOTES. I NEED A HUSBAND! SUKUNA I’M GOING TO CRY GOODBYE THIS HAS ME SOFT. also anon i’m not sure if you wanted something with more ~sexual tension~ since this is kind of just comedic, but I hope you like it anyway!
part one | part two (nsfw)
“This is new,” you comment with a glare, your ankle propped on Sukuna’s knee.
“Shut up,” he rolls his eyes, pushing your skirt aside to clean the wounds you attained through exorcising curses. You’ve taken a particularly strong curse today and you’re caught off guard, barely finishing the mission unscathed. Limping all the way back home isn’t easy especially since you live on top of the darned mountain, but if Sukuna’s going to kneel in front of you like this...maybe it wasn’t too tough a journey. “You should stop going to missions you’re not ready for. Look at you, all wounded and bloody.”
“You sound like you care.”
“You’re my wife,” he huffs while dropping the bloody towel on the floor. Sukuna wraps the bandage around your ankle and carries you bridal style even though you’re perfectly capable of walking, but he shoots you a silencing glare. You’d have knocked him in the face any other day, but he’s particularly warm and smells nice today – plus you’re beat – that you bury your face in his chest, ignoring that stupid fluttering in your stomach. “Of course I do.”
You snicker, mind tracing back to your earlier years of this dreaded marriage.
It definitely wasn’t the best – the memories blurring between strangling each other to making out as if breathing was never a thing – and it felt like forever ago when you first met him.
You’d never say it out loud, but... you don’t regret this arranged marriage. Not when Sukuna is tucking himself beside you on the bed, your head above his muscular chest a place similar to home. He covers both your bodies over with a blanket, pulling your body closer to him with a strong arm, his lips pressing onto the crown of your head.
Ugh, you think to yourself, giving in to the need to cuddle your husband after a long day of work. You still refuse to say it out loud, though, and you irk him further by muttering, “That’s not what you said two years ago.”
“I wasn’t in love with you then.”
“I refuse to be married to you!”
Sukuna fights back the urge to cover his ears. Ever since your clan decided to visit his land and started exorcising curses one by one, his life has been nothing but hell. Not only are your relatives the most arrogant people ever with a consistent god complex, they just had to let their little mortal child be in charge of taking on the stronger curses. Seriously, what were they thinking, sending you – who’s barely even out of their training bra years – to deal with curses like him?
Everyone knows Sukuna is a no bullshit man. He won’t hesitate to cut your head off the moment you came raging at him, but then he sees how young you are and decides to send you back to your family.
Expecting that everyone would just call it a day and he’d get offerings for his unexpected mercy, Sukuna is beyond stupefied when they send you back to his temple, all dressed pretty with a basket of fruits and flowers braided in your hair. He remembers growling because you look adorable, but that’s easily wiped away when you open your mouth, your voice scratchy against his ears as you stomp your feet like the young mortal you are.
Sukuna pushes a thumb to his forehead to ease the impending headache, and that’s just from your presence. Something inside him tells that you’re going to be a bigger pain than you look.
“You don’t have much of a choice. You should’ve thought of that before deciding to run rampage over my land,” he reminds, turning boredly to his lone servant from above his throne. Sukuna isn’t impressed, to say the least, especially with your clan’s audacious proposition to gain his favour just this once. “Is this really the woman you bring me – the one they insist to be my wife?”
“She is their best fighter, my Lord.”
Well, he can’t disagree to that. You did, after all, single-handedly give him a cut on the cheek. “She’s feisty indeed.”
“Don’t talk as if I’m not here!”
“Mouthy too,” he mumbles to himself, but your sorcerer senses are sharp and easily picks up on it. He sees you flush angry again, looking immensely adorable with your tiny fists clenched like that and he snorts, waving a hand in the air. “Whatever. Get the wedding over with,” he nods to his servant, his sigh loud and tired as he makes his way to you.
You don’t stiffen at each haunting step, his eyes only glimmering harder with entertainment. It’s rare to find a mortal that doesn’t quiver at the sight of him, the urge to break you only growing stronger.
Even as he cups your face, making sure to not let his claws dig into your precious skin, Sukuna smirks. You’ll be entertaining indeed.
So Sukuna makes a promise, four eyes surveying the way your body is starting to fill in curves at the right places, the swell of your flesh just perfect in his hands... He chuckles to himself, daunting you further as he leans down to your ear, taking pleasure in the slight way your breath hitches. “Maybe then I’ll get to teach you a lesson or two.”
You’re definitely something else, taking advantage of each presented opportunity and not wasting any time before you make your move. Right after the wedding and everyone’s left, leaving you alone with your new husband behind closed doors; you push him until he’s on the ground, legs straddling each side of his hips while you growl above him – the sound similar to a battle cry.
Sukuna merely smirks, barely moving a muscle as his large hands come up to rest on your hips to steady you. “I’ve imagined countless ways you’d be on top of me like this,” his eyes light up with humour upon feeling the cold blade on his skin, “None of them included a knife on my neck though.”
“Shut your mouth. I will kill you myself,” you warn, pressing your knife harder until it draws a slight tinge of blood.
You hardly look threatening above him like this, dolled up to look the best in your wedding with this cursed being. If anything, you look more divine than deadly, and Sukuna thinks that perhaps your beauty could be your best weapon. You are bewitching, after all.
“I refuse to be your Queen and sit next to your throne.”
“Then why didn’t you stop the wedding?”
“I—”
Sukuna’s teasing grin grows wider when you pull back, trying so hard to not trip over your words. It takes all of his self-restraint to not take you right then and there, but he does a good job of holding back, enjoying this view above him instead. “Could it be you’re attracted to me after all, hm, little one?”
“Do not test me, Curse. I’m more than capable of exorcising you myself.”
“Oh, I don’t doubt that. You’re the strongest in the Gojo clan, are you not?” he prompts to appease you, “I don’t even want to see what you’re capable of, but maybe, just maybe...” just as his eyes darken, the edges of his lips turning up into a smirk, Sukuna digs his claws into your thigh in a possessive show of ownership, a painful reminder that you’re his now. “...You could put on a little show for me?”
“I hate you!”
Experienced and strong as you are, you’re nothing compared to a thousand year old curse who’s killed a lot more people faster than you could blink. Sukuna immediately notices the animalistic way you draw your blade, arm swung back with rage written all over your face. Before you could so much as bat an eye, he easily switches the positions until you’re under him, using only one hand to pin your arms above your head, your blade effortlessly thrown to the other side of the room.
“As I thought, you’re a lot prettier under me like this,” he observes, roaming his eyes shamelessly over the fabric clinging prettily to your body. You’ve fallen silent at his unconcealed attention, your compliance enticing him to lean closer just to inhale your intoxicating scent.
“Not so feisty now, little one? Where’d all your hatred for me go?” Sukuna pulls back with widened eyes, “Oh? Am I hearing it wrong or is your pathetic human heart beating so loud right now?” You refuse to look at him, wriggling your hips in an attempt to leave, completely unaware that the mere movement is hypnotizing the curse above you. Sukuna grips your hips in warning, not wanting to destroy you – not now, anyway. “You know all you need to do is say it. I’d gladly take you right here and then.” His words spoken with that deep, throaty voice immediately sends a wave of heat down your core, but you turn away from him, breathing hard and nervously; something Sukuna picks up on in an instant. “Little one...have you never had a man hold you like this before?”
“N-no...”
“I see. Pure and innocent behind that ferocity, huh?” He surprises you by pulling away, smoothening his white robes down as he leaves you panting still on the floor. “Fine. I won’t touch you unless you ask me to.”
“I’d rather die before that ever comes out from my mouth.”
“We’ll see about that,” he smirks, winking at you before he shuts the door. “Little one.”
There’s a lot of weird – and utterly inconvenient things – about being Sukuna’s wife. The man eats everything, absolutely everything, and it doesn’t help that he sucks at hunting too. For a man so huge and burly, he sure is lazy, preferring to do the laundry in the riverside instead while you go out every day to prepare your meals.
You actually don’t mind, but it’s very fun to complain around him.
You’re on your way back to the temple when Sukuna grabs at you, making you drop the freshly caught birds onto the ground. Your brows furrow, about to scold him for being too eager again when Sukuna stares at your arm, his lips pressing into a thin line.
Following his line of sight, your lips form an ‘o’ shape. There’s blood trickling down your forearm from his claws accidentally cutting you, guilt written all over his face. Another weird thing about Sukuna is that he babbles a lot when he’s emotional, and you’re too tired to hear him beat himself over it that you just drag him inside your room, sitting his ass down before taking a clipper.
Sukuna scoffs when you start cutting his nails. It irks him that you don’t even bother wiping the blood off first and he tsks, eyes narrowed at you. “You should have thicker skin.”
You roll your eyes as you file his nails; you’ve been married to him long enough to know it’s his way of saying sorry. Not wanting to let him wallow in guilt any louder, you pad kisses over his knuckles before swiping the black ink off your desk, using a pen brush to colour your nails instead. Sukuna hovers behind you, head tilted to the side as he watched you. “Are you painting your nails black?” he utters in disbelief, trying to ignore the fact he feels...proud and even a little smug. “Not so fitting for the angelic sorcerer now, isn’t it?”
“I’m only doing this so you don’t feel left out.”
“Maybe I’ll add markings to your pretty face too,” he cups your jaw to make you turn to him, landing a solid kiss flat to your lips which makes you sigh, pretending to be annoyed but leaning over for another peck anyway. Sukuna laughs and pulls you onto his lap, kissing your neck this time around, a little annoyed that you don’t stop in brandishing your nails. “Wife, what do you think?”
“I have work, Sukuna. You flirting with me doesn’t change the fact I need to go.”
“Come home safe for me, at least?” he breathes down your neck, his touch sending shivers down your spine. You’ve definitely changed since the first time he’s met you, starting from a mean (although he stands strong that you are still mean to him sometimes) temperamental little one to a mature, stronger sorcerer who’s secretly weak for his wife.
Unable to resist him as always, you turn around once you’ve finished painting your nails, rubbing your nose over his until your strong, scary husband is turning into putty at your hands. “Of course I will,” you peck his lips one last time, Sukuna’s eyes closing as he dives in for a deeper kiss. “I’ll always come back home to my handsome husband.”
If anyone were to ask how it’s possible that the King of Curses is actually very soft for his sorcerer wife, everyone would claim it’s impossible and a heresy – but if you ask Sukuna, it’s probably just black magic doing its wonders.

insecurities | l. juyeon
🧸 pairing: idol!juyeon x (insecure) fem!reader 🧸 word count: 2.7k 🧸 genre: angst, fluffy end 🧸 tw: mentions of insecurities, doubts 🧸 a/n: sorry i forgot to post, i had a busy day and im exhausted, i hope it's gonna be enough! 🧸 requested: yes! thank you, it is very cliché but i hope this is what you had in mind! 💝
╰☆☆☆☆╮
Juyeon came home tired but happy, excited to see you again after a long day of intense practice and a show where he participated as an MC. You, on the other hand, were not as happy as he was, but you were for sure tired of something.
You couldn’t deny it, dating Juyeon had positive points, he was everything you could ask for in a man, but there were just as many negative points. He was an attractive, sweet gentleman, and it was almost impossible for him not to attract other girls, not even doing it on purpose. And it was one of your many insecurities even if you considered yourself pretty, you couldn’t help but get insecure every time he talked to someone else.
Because let’s be honest, in the Korean music industry, every single woman looks like an absolute goddess. So, when he interacts with someone, and they’re a bit too friendly, your heart pinches in pain as he gives them the smile he keeps for you and you only.
You think that they are more interesting, prettier and funnier than you, which has the ability to send your thoughts to the dark side of self-consciousness, not feeling pretty or enough next to those women. And tonight, it was hard to watch on National TV your boyfriend being extremely friendly with the other MC.
You had tried to comfort yourself that it was just a mask, that he had to look friendly and handsome on TV. However, you couldn’t help feeling disappointment and anger as he gave attentive eyes to the other MC as she explained something, his eyes falling on her lips pressed against the mic.
Juyeon walks through the main door, tossing his keys on the chest of drawers, getting rid of his jacket and shoes before joining you in the living room, happy to see that you were watching the same channel he appeared on. Eyes glued on the screen, your thumb rubbed against your lips, feeling the skin of the cuticles you scratched while watching your boyfriend feeling rough against your lips.
“Hi love,” he said as he sat next to you, pressing his lips on your cheek. You didn’t react, only emitting a slight hum as he sat comfortably.
Juyeon frowned but didn’t raise your bad mood, trying to think what was going on inside your head. Maybe you had a bad day, or you were just tired, despite scratching his head and think, he couldn’t pinpoint what had brought you in such a bad mood.
“Did you have fun?” you bitterly spat, and Juyeon’s eyes widened, surprised by your tone, the wrinkle on his forehead deepening as his brows furrowed at your attitude.
“I did. Are you mad or something?” he bluntly asked, and you sighed, taking the remote to turn the TV off, falling in an unpleasant, uncomfortable silence.
“Oh no, I’m super fine. I really enjoyed my boyfriend giving heart eyes to another girl on national TV, it was such a nice thing to watch,” you bitterly chuckled, and Juyeon’s eyes widened even more, not expecting you to pull out the jealousy card on that.
“Babe, what are you talking about? You know-”
“Please, spare me your fake confusion and lame excuses, I clearly saw what I saw. My eyes never deceive me,” you said while standing up, but Juyeon was quick to imitate you and grab your wrist to prevent you from walking away. You tried to free yourself from his grip, but he only tightened his hand around it.
“Juyeon, let me go,” you said through clenched teeth, trying to prevent the tears from escaping your eyes. Breaking down was the last thing you wanted to do in this situation.
“Not before you explain to me what this fuss is all about,” he said, irritation replacing confusion in his eyes. You let out a mocking scoff, your eyes filled with anger and disdain boring into your boyfriend’s, holding eye contact for a few seconds.
“You really think I’m this dumb? I clearly saw the eyes you gave to the other MC when you were both animating the show. Cracking jokes, giving her smiles that could outshine the sun, your eyes ogling her lips when she was talking or smiling. Did you really think I wouldn’t catch that?” you raised your voice, letting anger take over your body.
“I never did all of that, I don’t know what you are insinuating,” he spat, trying not to show it, but your words hurt him, hating the fact that you could imagine him cheat on you or fancy another girl.
“Go on social media then, you will see what I am ‘insinuating’! Everyone is already talking about how whipped you are and how cute of a couple you would look together. Some fans are even starting to make edits!” you shouted, shoving your phone in your hoodie’s front pocket.
Juyeon sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose to calm his nerves a bit, a gesture that had the ability to enrage you even more. Your family used to do that when they found you annoying or wanted to belittle you, and now seeing Juyeon doing the exact same thing as them really made you even more insecure about this whole situation. Your family made you feel like a real burden during your childhood and teen years that it hurt you to think that Juyeon was probably agreeing with that thought right now.
“Y/N, I don’t know what you are talking about. I was just trying to be nice, I can’t be rude or it’s mine and the group’s reputation that I’ll take down with me-”
“No it’s okay, no need to explain yourself, the message was very clear,” you said, and you finally freed yourself from his grip, your heart breaking as Juyeon sighed in annoyance again, seeing him almost roll his eyes.
“It’s not what I meant, and you know it. Don’t react like that, please,” he started, but you waved your hand in front of you.
“No, no, I got it, you-”
“Y/N, for the love of God, stop being so fucking insecure, it’s getting so fucking annoying at this point! I can’t do anything without you getting fucking doubtful, start having faith in me and in this relationship, dammit!” your eyes widened as Juyeon eventually snapped, his mouth slowly closing as he stared at you, realisation hitting him that his words and tone made a lot of damage once he saw the tears gather in your eyes and roll down your cheeks.
The couch separated the two of you, creating the illusion of a painful wall that made you shiver, feeling like your apartment had lost all of its warmth on the spur of the moment. His words were brutal, and they bounced around your skull, your head turning towards the corridor to swallow the lump forming in your throat, trying not to break down in front of him.
“Y/N, I’m-”
“Leave me alone,” you replied, voice wavering as you walked out of the living room, slamming the bedroom door shut before locking it.
Juyeon sighed and carded his hands through his dark locks, closing his eyes as he thought of the words that had escaped his mouth too quickly. He cursed under his breath as the living room fell into a deafening silence, his hands linked at the back of his neck as he thought of what just happened.
“Why did I say that,” he muttered under his breath and collapsed on the couch, unlocking his phone and scrolling on social media to try and momentarily forget your beautiful face painted with a hurtful expression because of him, but it was to no avail.
He saw what you saw; the fiction, the edits, the collages, he saw and read everything. He already hated seeing you cry and being hurt, but he actually loathed himself for being such an idiot and not comfort you about the whole situation with what was happening on every social platform.
His heart shattered in millions of pieces as he pictured you crying in your shared bed, holding the stuffed animal he got you for your anniversary tight against your chest, letting you drown in your insecurities and intrusive thoughts. He loved you very much, but despite him trying to remind you every single day, your intrusive thoughts always managed to get the upper hand when you found yourself hanging out on your own or with some friends. It was as if your brain shut out everyone who tried to reassure you or make you feel better, letting you drown and struggle in your sorrow.
Yes, the other idols were pretty, but they were nothing compared to you. Juyeon had only eyes for you and cared about you and, of course, his members, but never had he thought about leaving you for someone else. His intentions were just to sound and appear nice and welcoming on TV because he knew that some fans, antis and media wouldn’t hesitate a second to bash him on different platforms and articles for his rudeness and insensitivity towards his idol colleague. And not only would he break his reputation, but also the group’s, and that’s the last thing he wanted.
However, he also understood that it was something hard to watch for you, even if he reminded you every single day that you were the only one that mattered in his eyes.
Sitting on the couch, he started reflecting, putting himself in your shoes for a second. How would he have reacted if he saw you being super friendly and affectionate to another man? Someone more handsome, nicer than him, cracking jokes here and there to see you smile and laugh.
He tossed his phone on the couch space next to him, where he wished you were instead of crying yourself in your shared bed, watching the device bounce, collide with the armrest and fall on the ground. He didn’t even fret checking if the screen cracked, head too high in his thoughts to bother.
Resting his elbows on his knees, he pressed his joined hands against his mouth, tongue poking his inner cheek as he realised he had really messed everything up. His knee started bouncing at the disgusting thought of losing you, perfectly knowing that he had to do something before you could slip through his hand like grains of sand.
Juyeon stood up and knocked on the bedroom door, softly calling for your name.
“Y/N?” he asked, and you didn’t respond, faintly hearing you cry on the other side of the wall. “Go away, please,” your strained voice barely making it to his ears, his fingers drumming against the surface of the door in frustration.
From your side of the bed, still holding that teddy bear close to your chest, you let your tears damp the top of its head, feeling the exhaustion of crying kicking in. Juyeon didn’t knock another time, trying not to push your buttons too much to save his chances to talk to you.
You heard a small thud on the lower part of the door, frowning as you wondered what it was. Deep breathings filled in the silence lingering in the corridor, selfishly feeling a bit relieved that you weren’t the only one hurt in this situation. Juyeon was a smart, tolerant man, he knew when to put his pride aside and not blame you for something you said or did. Well, it’s not the case for this time, and it’s probably exhaustion that spoke for him, and that, of course, doesn’t excuse anything, but he wanted to apologise and make up for everything.
“I know you probably don’t want to see me or hear my voice after what I’ve told you, but I really want to apologise for what I’ve said,” you held your breath to hear his faint, low voice on the other side of the door. You sat up and felt dizzy for a quick second, still holding the teddy bear against your chest, your face buried in its head as you let the tears keep rolling on your cheeks.
“I know it’s hard to date me, and I’m really sorry, I wish we had a simpler life, where we could hang out and go on dates like two normal people. It’s also hard for me to not be the type of boyfriend everyone wishes to have, but I’m so damn grateful to call you mine.” Juyeon marked a pause and ruffled his hair, pushing the front pieces away from his hair while thinking of his following words.
“I… you don’t know how much I’m sorry for using your insecurities against you. I shouldn’t have, it was the dumbest move I could ever do, but I just didn’t know what to answer. You are so pretty, so beautiful, amazing, and absolutely wonderful to have around to me, so seeing you this insecure makes me mad every time you compare yourself to someone you think looks prettier, thinner, or more perfect than you. It’s... really frustrating because I try my best to make you feel like a goddess and worth it every day, but those unrealistic society standards and god damn social media make you feel like you are not worth an ounce of love,” he took in a big breath and raised his knees upwards, letting his forearms rest on them.
You slowly opened the door behind him and dropped the teddy bear by his side, letting him know of your presence. He was quick to notice it and turn around to hug your legs tightly, your hands finding their way in his hair and started massaging his skull.
“I’m so sorry, Ju,” you faintly whispered, and he breathed in deeply against your skin as if he finally found you again after being separated from you for years.
He grabbed your cherished stuffed animal and stood up, holding it against your chest with a tender smile. He sat you down on the bed and gave you a proper hug, mouth pressing loving kisses on your forehead and temple as his hand caressed the back of your head, holding you as close to him as possible.
“I’m so sorry Y/N, I really am. I love you so, so much, I’m really sorry for all the stupid words I’ve thrown at you,” he said, and you shook your head, squeezing your arms around his middle tightly as an answer.
“I guess I have to accept that you have eyes only for me. But you know, it’s hard to acknowledge it and believe it when you find everyone around you ten times more beautiful than you are,” you mumbled against his chest as you sat on his lap, and he nodded, feeling a lump rising in his throat.
“I know Y/N, I know. I wish I could rid you of those insecurities, my heart breaks each time I see you so unsure of yourself. You're just so beautiful and amazing, it honestly kills me to see you like this,” he whispered, and you bitterly chuckled, gently pulling away to look at him with pearly eyes, his arms around you holding you still tight, making sure that you wouldn’t go too far from him.
“You can’t do that, but maybe you can help me soothe them by keeping loving me the way you’ve done since day one,” you mumbled, and he smiled, his eyes shining with tears just like yours.
You both cupped each other’s face and sadly smiled at the other, Juyeon feeling comforted at the sensation of your thumbs wiping the tears away from his cheeks and vice versa.
“We just need time, love, but I promise I’m going to help you realise how much you mean to me and how beautiful you are. And how much I don’t care about other girls,” he mumbled, and he gently drew your face closer to his, your lips grazing against his mouth. You closed your eyes at the proximity, feeling so much love and passion in his kiss that it was getting hard to breathe.
“I love you so much, Y/N,” Juyeon pulled away from your lips and whispered against your mouth, his hot breath mixing with yours.
“I love you too,” you smiled, burying your face in his neck, your boyfriend kissing the crown of your head while hugging you tight.
You giggled as Juyeon applied pressure on your waist, making you fall on your side on the bed. His hand gently cradled your cheek, thumb caressing your cheekbone with a soft smile on his face. You closed your eyes and pressed your forehead against his, feeling him chuckle and gently press his lips against yours.

Hello! Can you do one in which Chris meets the (super famous too) reader when they are presenting an Oscar and they immediately become good friends and he flirts with her and maybe even takes her number?
i’m gonna do this as a short imagine (something i’m trying to start now) i hope u like it ♥️xxx
wordcount: 932
warnings: none
Chris’ pov:
I didn’t really understand nor know why I felt so nervous tonight. Presenting an award was something I have done many times in the past. Remembering the day, I found out I will walk out with JLO around my arm I was convinced I’m going to shit myself, but I did fine. Tonight, was different. As I looked at my reflection wearing a tight fit grey suit, I was drowning in my own thoughts.
You were behind it I was convinced. Everyone in the show-biz seemed very interested in you and I was one of them. You were talented and beautiful, what more could you want from an actress, right? Something about you was captivating to me I could not explain it. I never met you, you never met me, but I still were able to formulate those wild feelings towards you. I hated that.
I could admit I was having a crush on you. Not to you though, obviously. But to everyone who was close to me. Apart from my brother, he had the biggest mouth of all.
As I prepared to walk out, I reminisced some more. Oscars used to be bittersweet for me, always. I constantly thought about how unworthy of one I really am. It made me doubt by skills as an actor. At the same time, I was thankful, so thankful for the fact that I was there. For the recognition and opportunity that came my way and made me the figure I was today. Maybe with age I grew out of jealously and were unable to put myself down at every given chance.
The whole thing happened so quickly. I had a few seconds to admire your dress, your hair, your makeup, and your killer body before we were quite literally pushed out on the stage. Presenting the actors for the category and letting you announce the winner was a brief moment. It was all a blur. We did well but this was the last time I let my manager set me up to this before allowing me to practice with my partner for the night prior to introducing.
After we walked out the main stage, I let a gasp of relief out. The air felt thick and difficult to process as stress gradually escaped my body. For a second there I failed to remember you were here with me, so close, almost to close for my testosterone’s liking.
“Hi!” Your voice cracked down my train of thought, instigating me to glace at yourself. I smiled involuntary as my eyes scanned your face. Now, that our gazes were linked I could confirm that you were way prettier than I thought. “I’m so happy you were up there with me tonight, you know? You are so much more interesting than me and all the eyes will be on you instead. Thank God for that,” I furrowed my eyes at your words. Nonsense, I thought. You were gorgeous and only a fool would rather focus on me instead of you. Of course, those phrases could never actually leave my mouth for real.
“I hope not, God. I know you did way better than me. I was nervous so they will probably be able to tell,” I laughed out loud as I slowly made my way to the main sitting room for the attendees. I figured you took the hint and walked as well since your heels made the familiar stepping sound as you sped up to walk by my side.
“You’re hot so they will be looking at you more,” You winked at me with a small smirk, forcing me to form a similar smile on my own lips. You shouldn’t be taking to me like that. You had no idea how badly I wanted to take that damn dress off of you since I noticed you.
“Oh, and you’re not hot too, missy?” I poked you with my elbow, eyeing you as if you were crazy. I limited myself to this though. I didn’t want to overstep my boundaries and say something that will make me look like a creep. And get me a cover page of some trash magazine too in case you wanted to ruin my career. I wasn’t expecting that from you, but I didn’t know you and anything was possible. No denial in that,
“You’re funny,” Your eyes rolled at me, but I could see you were enjoying our little conversation. I wasn’t sure what you meant by your words since I said nothing that was truly humorous, but I attempted not to overthink it too much. I was a master at overthinking, especially when it came to pretty girls like you.
“If you let me get your number, I can demonstrate that I am way funnier that that. Also, if I fail at that task, I have a cute dog that can do all the hard work in impressing ladies department for me,” My hand rested on my chest to highlight the honesty of my words. Your laugh assured me that my flirting was all correct right now. Good because I didn’t know how to flirt with women younger than me.
I nodded as you promised to give me your cell when your assistant comes back with your purse. I was satisfied with that. What man wouldn’t be, fuck, you were stunning. I wasn’t trying to get ahead of myself thought. If a casual friendship were all that could happen from this, I was fine with that. I could already tell I liked your personality. You seemed so…bubbly. I enjoyed it greatly.

So, this is a little goofy thing featuring Arkham Knight Eddie and a female!o/c that was inspired by an actual dream I had recently. Like, literally, the dream mentioned in this story is almost exactly the same.
It’s pretty short and I’m....not entirely sure it’s good but I dunno...I wanted to get that dream out of my head somehow and turn it into something positive so...here is this silly drabble.
Contains some smut and suggestive comments, but nothing overly explicit.
Words: 2104 Title: i'm best when I'm In love Rating: M (going with the AO3 smutty content labels here)
“My Dear, you’re struggling,” Edward said as he moved one of his pawns.
“Well, I have yet to beat you, Eddie,” Sara responded in a tense voice, letting out a sharp, frustrated breath.
“True, but lately, you’ve been performing much better than this. Right now, your tactics are sloppy, like when I first started teaching you.”
“Chess takes time to learn, right?”
“Correct, and you have the benefit of learning from an astounding genius like myself. However, your focus is not on the game, so no matter what I say, you’re still going to lose much sooner than you should.”
“It’s not over yet.”
Edward’s gaze moved from the chess board to Sara’s agitated expression, noting the almost pained look in her eyes as she tried so very hard to concentrate on the game. It was easy to see that she was becoming more panicked by the second, and whatever skills she had acquired from his teachings had gone out the window for the time being.
“No, but the way you’re tap, tap, tapping that Knight piece on the table indicates there’s a much more serious problem here,” Edward said.
Sara hadn’t even realized she was doing it, and quickly stopped once she looked down at her right hand. The Knight piece was given a much-needed break as she set it on the table and tried to gather her thoughts.
“Sorry,” Sara said, running a hand through her hair.
As much as Edward wanted for Sara to look at him, he knew how nerve-wracking it could be for her to make direct eye contact when she was upset. It did sadden him, though, that she had barely glanced at him the whole time they’d been together that day, and part of him wondered if there was something he did to make her uncomfortable -- or something he didn’t do. Both of them had a lot of pent up emotions, and while they were quick to unleash them when under stress, they were also terrible at asking for help or simply being vulnerable in general. So, he had to approach this cautiously.
“Where is your mind at, Dearest Devinette?” he asked, tilting his head slightly to the side.
Sara let out a little huff which was as close to a chuckle as she could muster upon hearing one of his (rather adorable) nicknames for her.
“I’ve just got something on my mind,” she replied, resting her head in her left hand as she leaned on the table.
“Obviously,” said Edward, rolling his eyes. “But what precisely is on your mind?”
Sara chewed on her lower lip as she pondered how to respond. It was stupid, she told herself, what she was thinking, what she had been thinking, and she was almost embarrassed to admit it out loud -- let alone to herself. Edward was not going to take “no” for an answer, though, nor would he believe any lie she could toss into his lap. She was a terrible liar to begin with, and he was far too perceptive.
“It’s about, um….” Sara began, her throat starting to clamp up as her heart raced in her chest. “It’s, uh, about...a…”
The need to “hide” was too great at that moment, and Sara abruptly stood and turned her back to Edward, bringing her index finger to her mouth to bite at the second knuckle.
“It’s about a dream I had recently,” Sara confessed, her mouth dry and her heart beating so loudly in her ears she thought Edward might hear it.
“Ok?” Edward said slowly, waiting for her to continue despite feeling a little impatient.
As much as Edward wanted to help his love, there was little he could do without knowing the details of what troubled her so. Being helpless like this -- being helpless at all -- always drove him crazy. He needed to solve this, but he also needed answers first.
“Well, in the dream, we were working together,” Sara continued. “At a job. At a company. We were programmers.”
“It sounds like a very tame dream so far,” Edward commented.
“We were on a project together, and we liked each other. You liked me. I felt so happy to be noticed by a guy, and I thought I had a chance with you. But then...things changed. A new programmer started working there, a pretty blonde woman who was really smart. Like, a natural. You suddenly stopped paying attention to me, choosing to spend time with her. You both looked very happy, had lots to talk about, and whenever I tried to get your attention, you would...brush me off. You even...removed yourself from the project we were working on so you could work with this woman on a different one. I was invisible to you after that, and very alone.”
Edward felt a mixture of frustration, sympathy, confusion, and hurt over Sara’s dream. It was pure nonsense, no doubt, in every possible way, but clearly, it had an effect on her. Insecurities could twist your thoughts and emotions in painful ways, ways that didn’t even make sense. But they tugged at you until you gave into them and believed what they believed.
He could relate to that, even if he wasn’t willing to admit it out loud.
Edward got up from the table and approached Sara, wrapping his arms around her from behind to hold her against him.
“Oh, my silly little riddle,” he said with a smile, trying to brighten her spirits in some way. “It was just a dream, nothing more.”
“But...would you ever…?” Sara asked, her voice cracking.
“Would I ever, what?”
“Leave me for someone smarter, prettier…”
“What? No! Don’t be foolish!”
Edward made Sara turn to face him, his heart breaking upon seeing her tear-streaked face.
“I’m not going to leave you,” Edward said, cupping her face in his hands so she’d look at him. “You are the only one I want to be with. That dream was absolute nonsense, My Dear. I cannot even fathom for a second the mere idea of choosing someone else over you…” He leaned in and nuzzled her nose with his, smiling sweetly. “...my favorite distraction, my Darling Devinette, my Ravishing Riddle...”
Sara snorted, a grin spreading across her face.
“My Endearing Enigma,” Edward added, relieved to see her giggling.
“The nicknames are killing me,” Sara said, wiping her face. “You’re goofy.”
“”Goofy? Goofy, you say?”
“Yes, and a total fucking nerd!”
“Oh, is that how it is then? Hmm?”
Edward scooped Sara up into his arms, humming contentedly.
“Well, this ‘Goofy Nerd’ is going to whisk you off to bed and physically -- very physically -- demonstrate to you exactly how I feel.”
“Oh, my…” Sara said with a chuckle.
“I am going to make it so that you won’t be capable of coherent thoughts or speech,” Edward said with a smirk as he carried her to their bedroom. “You’ll be so overwhelmed with pleasure that the only thing you’ll be able to do is feel. No more negative, idiotic thoughts!”
“I’ll hold you to that,” Sara said, biting her lip.
---
“Oh, God, Eddie, there, please!”
“You’re so perfect, My Darling, so perfect…I can’t get enough...Oh, God!”
“What?”
“Oh, no, no, no...not now!”
Sara watched Edward sit up, one hand covering the lower half of his face. While she couldn’t see anything yet, she knew what was happening.
“Oh, Eddie,” she said, quickly grabbing tissues for him.
Edward took them and applied them to his bleeding nose, looking completely humiliated. Sara reached out to him, brushing hair from his face, but he jerked away, too embarrassed to even look at her. The poor man suffered from chronic nosebleeds, probably because his nose had been broken so many times (Thanks, Batman), and sometimes he got them during the most inconvenient moments.
“Let’s go to the bathroom,” Sara said.
She followed Edward into the bathroom, grabbing a wad of paper towels to hand to him for his nose. He threw the bloody tissues into the waste bin with a grunt, still unable to look her in the eye.
“I’ll run a bath,” Sara said as she went to turn on the tub faucet.
Edward’s nosebleed did slow while the tub filled up, but he still hated himself. Why did he have to have one while he was in the middle of…? With her? He was supposed to be making her feel good, not...bleeding on her. It was disgusting -- he felt disgusting. What kind of lover was he?
Sara tapped Edward’s shoulder, telling him the bath was ready. He mumbled something, tossing the blood-soaked paper towels into the waste bin before turning to her. Why did she have to look at him like that? Like she was worried? Why did she care so much? Why wasn’t she angry with him for ruining ‘the mood?’ Or grossed out? There was drying blood on her shoulder still, and yet, she didn’t seem to care.
Edward and Sara got into the tub with her sitting behind him. Taking a rag, she soaked it in the bathwater then handed it to him so he could clean his nose, lips, and chin of blood, and thankfully, the nosebleed had stopped by then. When she started to shampoo his hair, her elegant fingers lightly scratching his scalp as she hummed some random tune, he remembered the dream she had told him about. Once his hair was rinsed, he turned to face her, his expression full of guilt and sorrow.
“What’s wrong, Eddie?” Sara asked.
“This is just one of the many reasons why I could never want someone else,” Edward said quietly. “You’re so kind to me, so gentle...and I didn’t do anything to deserve it -- to deserve you. No one has ever treated me the way you do, no one has ever looked at me the way you do, no one has ever spoken to me the way you do.... I never realized how...how alone I was until I met you. I’d do anything for you, give up everything for you…”
Even my own life, he thought.
“So, please, never doubt how much you mean to me,” Edward said.
Sara was blushing, trying to come up with a response but too flustered to speak properly.
“I...I don’t know ….I don’t know...what to say,” she admitted, smiling shyly. “I’ve….never heard someone say something like that before…”
“You don’t have to say anything,” Edward assured her with a small, warm smile. “Just be with me.”
“Of course.”
Edward turned around so he could rest against her, his head on her shoulder as she wrapped her arms around him. While he was planning to finish what he started once they were out of the tub and back into bed, in that moment, he felt absolutely perfect where he was. All his life, he’d never had affectionate physical contact. Sure, there was the awkward hug here and there, or obligatory embrace when he had a lover (and there were very, very, very few of those), but nothing that was genuine or even remotely pleasant.
But in moments like this one with his beloved, he felt like he could be as vulnerable as he needed because she’d never hurt or humiliate him. When she hugged him, it was always warm and welcoming. Whenever she held his hand, she loved to lace their fingers together, almost like she was “trapping” him but in the most romantic way possible. Whenever she kissed him, he felt absolutely smitten because her kisses were so comforting or even playful.
“I love you, My Dearest Horny Geek,” Sara whispered, barely holding back a cute chuckle.
Edward rolled his eyes but smirked at her outrageously endearing nickname for him.
“And I love you, My Dearest Horny Enigma,” he replied, and they both couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Two horny peas in a pod,” she said as she placed a kiss to the top of his head. “And, you know, if you’re still up for it, you could put your ‘pea’ back in my ‘pod’ once we’re done with this bath.”
Edward slowly turned his head to look up at Sara, his cheeks a bright pink and his gaze full of bewilderment. When she snorted in amusement, he soon found himself joining her in a fit of childish giggles. And here she had been worried he would fall out of love with her. No one could make him laugh or grin like he did. No one could make him feel loved and needed like she did.
Only her.
What a lucky little shit he was….
----
And there we have it! Hopefully it’s not too crappy. I’m not totally satisfied with it but don’t feel like making it a longer story (at least, not right now). Let me know what you think and damn, I have really depressing dreams sometimes.

genre: crack, fluff, angst, possible smut soulmate!au, college!au, social media!au mixed WITH narrative
warnings: swearing, slightly suggestive with possible smut in future chapters
word count: 2.5K
parts: prologue , character-profile, I
synopsis: you gradually lose your ability to see colors as you fall out of love with donghyuck
you were red and you liked me because I was blue. but you touched me and suddenly was a lilac sky. then you decided purple just wasn't for you.
You’ve always loved the rain, unlike your boyfriend who would squirm whenever a single drop touches his golden skin, but then again, who could blame him? he was like the sun; a ball of roaring fire that could never learn to love its polar opposite. But you on the other hand, could never hate it even if you tried, there was just something about it, maybe it’s the tranquility of it, the smell, the aesthetic or the fact that it brings you back to the very night you met Hyuck.
It’s quite funny really, you’d think these only happened in movies and tv shows yet there you were, soaking wet and walking side by side with a boy you barely knew under an umbrella that barely covered you both.
You sighed deeply while looking through the glass windows of the convenience store and up at the dark sky, the rain was pouring and you figured it won’t be stopping any time soon.
You didn’t have your umbrella with you but it was already past 10pm so after a few minutes of internally arguing with yourself, you got out of your seat, walked out and pulled your bag above your head to somehow shield yourself from the rain.

open? Yes / No
As you took your first few steps outside, you heard the bell ring from behind you, signaling that there was someone going in/out of the store.
You didn’t mind it at first but you heard someone yell “Hey, wait up!” no one else was around so you assumed the person was calling out for you and stopped in your tracks.
You turned around to look and just as you do, a car sped right in front of you which caused the rain water from the ground to be splashed all over you.
“Well, fuck” you exhale.
You lowered the bag covering your head as you were already soaking wet from head to toe and wiped your dripping face swearing to yourself that the universe hated you.
As soon as the car passed, the person on the other side of the road, jogged towards you and adjusted his umbrella over your head “What the hell were you thinking?”
You were quite confused as to why this person was suddenly scolding you so you just furrowed your brows at him.
“Walking home without an umbrella in this weather? Are you stupid?”
“Well what do you want me to do? spend the night at 7-eleven?” you didn’t mean to respond with sarcasm but you just got soaked with rain water and this guy who was nagging you while talking just called you stupid which did not help you and your anger issues.
“Better than ending up looking like a wet dog that just played in the mud but I think it’s a little too late for that” he said as he looked you up and down.
“Hey, it’s not my fault! that guy was driving like he’s in grand theft auto!”
“Well if you just stayed back in the store and waited for the storm to at least calm down a little bit then you wouldn’t be in this situation in the first place and I wouldn’t have had to leave my delicious cup of ramen in there all alone” he raised his brow acting as if he made a point.
“No one asked you to do that”
“No one asked me to be so unbelievably hot either but here I am”, you scoffed at his sudden cockiness but you’d rather eat your own arm than feed a man’s ego so you looked at him with a distasteful expression “Just go back to your ramen, I can handle myself”
“Lies. You’ll freeze to death before you could even get half-way home. Here, take this” he took off his jacket and handed it to you.
The cold wind mixed with rain and your wet clothes hit you like a truck bigger than your ego but your stubbornness still got the better of you “I-I don’t need it”
“you’re literally shivering like a little puppy”, he was right but are you going to admit to that? No.
“I bite into my ice cream without feeling a thing and sleep right in front of the air conditioner, I think I’ll be fine”
He poked his tongue in his cheek, showing his annoyance “Why do you have to be so difficult? you’d rather walk home freezing than put your pride aside for a second?” the angrier he got while scolding you, the more he talked in a pout so instead of scaring you into listening, you actually found it a little cute—
“Hey, are you listening?!” thunder struck all of a sudden which made you flinch and Donghyuck swore right then and there that you were the most adorable thing in existence.
After seeing you jump from the thunder, his expression softened and suddenly the rain was pouring heavier than before and you were shivering like crazy. He sighed, and put his jacket over your shoulders himself.
You were gonna take it off and give it back to him but he stopped you “if you take that off, I’ll kiss you” normally, you would love to challenge a bluff but you couldn’t take it anymore, it was so cold and you had no other choice, so you mumbled a quick “fine” and although it didn’t help much, you did feel a lot warmer.
He smiled at you, satisfied with your decision “Great, so where are we headed?”
“We?” you looked up at him confused
“mhmm, were you just expecting me to give you my umbrella and let you go home with my adidas track top?” he said with a ridiculing expression
“pretty much, yeah”
“This is my only umbrella and that jacket costs over a $60, I’m not letting you walk away with it just like that and besides, there are loads of creeps out here”
“$60 for a jacket this thin?” you held up the sides of the jacket wondering how a jacket so thin could cost more than your weeks worth of allowance.
“Yeah, it’s a bit off a rip-off, but that’s not the point, dummy. I’m your only option of getting home safe wether you like it or not”
“You don’t even know me, why do you care so much if something happens?“
“My gentleman nature is truly my biggest flaw-“ you rolled your eyes and turned around, ready to walk away but he held your shoulders back “ah ah, hold on! My mom would never forgive me if she found out I left a girl all alone to walk home in the rain”
You sighed “Fine but no talking, I’ve already used up all my social juice for the day” he nodded cutely and snuggled beside you.
You didn’t get the chance to think about it but he looked around your age and appeared to be a student as well, considering the fact that he wore a tracksuit and was carrying a backpack.
You tried to catch a glimpse of his face every now and then and you weren’t gonna lie, he definitely wasn’t bad looking.
Being a little shorter than him, it gave you the opportunity to study his side-profile; his jaw was quite defined and his features were really soft and he had these insanely fluffy cheeks oh- and you also noticed his plump lips that made it look like he was always pouting.
“Take a picture, it’ll last longer” he said with a straight face, not even bothering to look in your direction.
“What?” you widened your eyes, blood rushing to your cheeks due to embarrassment.
“What? you think I haven’t noticed you staring at me for the past five minutes? you’re practically undressing me with your eyes” he playfully rolled his eyes.
You slapped his arm “No, I wasn’t! what’s wrong with you!”
He let out a chuckle, finding your annoyance and the way you turn red when embarrassed very amusing but you on the other hand just stayed with a pout and furrowed brows.
Donghyuck soon realized that you haven’t caught each other’s name yet “so what’s your name?”
“I thought I said no talking”
“Come on, small talk won’t hurt you”
I guess it’s better than walking in awkward silence “I’m y/n”
“Cute. I’m Donghyuck“ he smiled.
Since you were making small talk, you decided to ask about him more “if you don’t mind me asking, are you still a student?”
“A high school junior, yes, you?”
“Oh my god! same!” Donghyuck noticed how you got a little too excited over something so little but little did he know, that your childlike nature was just a sample of your many unforgettable qualities.
“Really? your height is making me think otherwise”
“Hey! My height is average!” you stopped and started to get defensive.
“And it’s not like you could talk, you’re not even that much taller!” that was a lie, he stood a good 7 inches taller than you making him the perfect height to give you forehead kisses.
“Okay mike wazowski, let’s keep it moving”
“Are you really trying to get me mad?!”
You looked so cute with your brows knit together and mouth forming a thin line that Donghyuck just couldn’t help but laugh “No offense but I literally feel like I’m being threatened by a cupcake”
“Do you want to fight?!” and just like that, Donghyuck found his new favorite hobby: annoying the living hell out of you.
“Pftt, what are you gonna do? eat my kneecaps?” he rolled his eyes.
“You know what, take your umbrella, I’m going home on my own!” You were ready to leave and he chuckled “Come onnnnn, I’m just kidding, it’s already-“ he checked his phone for the time “10:57 and I have to be home by midnight”
“Who are you? Cinderella?”
“Yeah but I’m much prettier and charming plus I have a mom who will eat me alive if I stay out too late so let’s get going”
“okay but you have to promise to stop teasing me”
“Alright. I’ll try” and with that you huffed continued with your walk home
You didn’t want to admit it but you really enjoyed Donghyuck’s company, there was just a natural sense of familiarity with him which made you feel at ease.
He would talk about the most random things but no matter what they were, he always found a way to put a smile on your face.
He even talked about his little puppy at home who probably misses him which made you feel bad because the puppy must be so sad right now and here you are, taking up too much of Donghyuck’s time.
You were both so into these conspiracy theories that you didn’t even notice that thirty minutes have passed and you were right in front of you house.
“Well, uhm, this is me” you smiled softly.
“Oh then I guess I’ll get going now” he responded, getting ready to go home.
“Wait uh- thanks for you know, walking me home and stuff.. I’m really sorry for being rude earlier” you looked at the ground, feeling ashamed of how you acted earlier when he was only trying to help.
He chuckled, ruffling your hair “It’s fine, I won’t exactly be very happy either if I got ground water splashed all over me while it’s 10 degrees outside, but you do owe me a cup of ramen”
“Oh come on, that probably only costed like a dollar or something” you whined
“3$ actually and it was a really delicious cup of ramen so I’m gonna have to get your number because I’m not letting this one slide” if Donghyuck was being honest, he couldn’t give two fucks about the ramen; normally, he’d be really mad about it but the fact that he can use it as an excuse to get your number, made up for it.
“fine” and that was how it all started.
Now, you could’ve called a cab that night or asked someone to come pick you up but you didn’t. Call it fate or your brain just wasn’t working at the time but you sure as hell know it happened for a reason because that’s what brought Hyuck to you.
There are forces in the universe that we don’t understand, measurable forces that can’t be explained but also can’t be denied and nobody gets it but maybe that’s what it was because right here, right now you’re with a distressed Donghyuck because you both forgot your umbrellas and have to take shade under an oak tree.
He hated the rain, he would squirm every time it hit his skin yet he still gave up his jacket to cover you. He continued to scold you because quite frankly, you stopping to pet every single stray animal you saw was the reason why you got caught in the middle of the rain anyway.
“You know, one of these days, one of those strays will bite or scratch you and you’re gonna get rabies” there he was again with his lips in a pout, annoyed by the continuous droplets of rain meeting his golden skin.
“Hmm maybe, but until then, I’m gonna stop to pet every single one I see because all of them deserve love and attention. You know, if it were up to me-“ he cut you off “You’re gonna adopt all the stray animals in the world and take care of them, I know. You literally never fail to mention that” you smiled at how he always seems to never listen to you yet he remembers the little things. But then you noticed that he was shivering “are you cold? do you want your jacket back?”
“no, I’m fine” he exhales.
You furrowed your brows and looked at him with worry and of course he noticed.
“Baby, I’m fine, I swear, all this sexual tension between us from being so close together is enough to keep me warm”
You playfully hit his arm and he chuckled “No, seriously, keep it, you need it more than me” oh, he hated it, he hated it so so much. He wanted to be anywhere with you but there but he wasn’t gonna admit to that and he didn’t want you to worry.
Youu started to talk in a pout, a habit you unconsciously picked up from your boyfriend whenever you were worried “but you’re shivering, can we at least share it?”
Donghyuck knows the jacket would never fit the both of you but he also knows that you’re not one to give up easily, it’s one of his most favorite things about you, except when you’re arguing or playing games because you’re both egotistical assholes yet you’re the only one who can put him in his place and the only one he sets his pride aside for.
You looked at him snuggled right beside you, trying his best to not let the rain touch you and despite the situation being unfavorable, right at this exact moment, everything just felt right and you know you were supposed to be here.

LITTLE WHITE LIES
You don’t need Mingyu as a new roommate. Not when it’s impossible to bite your tongue around him. Not when you are arguing with him and suddenly complimenting him. Or, in a soulmate world, you can’t lie to your soulmate, but you didn’t know that.
pairing: mingyu x gender neutral reader
genre: fluff, crack, a dash of angst maybe?? + soulmate! au + roomate! au
wc: 2.8+k
warning: I think that none uwu
notes: find minghao’s soulmate au! here. Also I think this turned out differently than how I wanted but I needed to post it haha.
Living the college life along with your best friend is a teenage dream come true. You've spent half of your life planning on where you would live, how would your apartment be, what would both of you study (and many more things that are actually impossible to plan in advance). Everything was fine at first: living out of town, in a big city where you could find anything you wanted, partying, meeting new people, studying something different and -the most important part- living with your friend. Eventually, it all became too much and you both began to feel the pressure of not living under the same roof with your parents, overall when it came to paying for the apartment.
"We need to do something," Your friend told you one day.
"I know," You sighed "We'll figure something out."
"What about a roommate?"
You thought it through for a second. Your apartment had a spare room you both used as a storage room, it even had a bed on it and it wasn't that small, so there would be no problem with three people living in an apartment that is actually for three people. Still...
"No,"
"What? Y/n, why?" Your friend seemed stressed and you almost felt bad, "it would be much better if somebody lived with us. If we split the rent into three we won't have to be so stressed about the money every month."
"I would rather get a part-time job. Look, I want to live with you and just you. Another person will make things worse and I don't want that."
"Do you realize that we would still be the same, just with another person around, right?"
"As if that was just a little change!"
Your friend groaned and so did you. You knew you were being irrational but living with someone is complicated, and you didn't know if you were willing to live with another stressed-out student. Personalities can clash. The mood could get worse.
"Look, let me find someone nice. I pinky-promise you that if you have a meaningful reason to hate them, we'll kick them out and find each of us part-time jobs and we'll manage. Just let me try," your friend extended her pinky and you entwined it with yours, your thumbs touching.
Find a meaningful reason to hate them? Tsk, that isn't hard at all, you are sure you'll find something in no time. Your friend can't find the perfect roommate because the perfect roommate doesn't exist.
Turns out the best roommate does exist. Kim Mingyu is the name. You accept him because he is friends with Wonwoo and you happen to owe the older boy a favor. Still, Mingyu is just as Wonwoo described him to be: clean, organized, hates disorder, can cook very delicious food and loves to have some company. He forgot to mention how incredibly handsome he is and how you share the same hobbies and preferences.
You get nervous around him all the time because you hate to admit your new roommate is the closest to your ideal type you’ve ever met, and even if you are in the same room all you answer are monosyllables. One day it all gets even weirder. You wanted to watch something on the television but he already was watching some netflix show.
“Mingyu I really want to see this new series, can I?” You are sure he would gently give you the remote control, but he doesn’t.
“But I’m watching my show.” He looks taken aback at himself and you frown.
“But your show is on Netflix you can watch it anytime. Mine is live, there's no way I can watch it anytime later.”
“This is the first time in the week I’m watching television. I want to have it to myself.” This time he frowns and he checks himself in the mirror beside the sofa. “What am I doing?” You hear him whispering.
“Mingyu you are straight-up being selfish. Can’t you just watch it tomorrow?” You stop thinking for a second, did you just call him selfish? Without you actually wanting to do that?
“Selfish? You talk to me for the first time to call me selfish?”
“Yes, and I’d do it again.” Why can’t you speak nicely?
“Well, you’re so boring. This is the first time we talked, I barely even knew how your face was before today, you don’t want to get to know your new roommate don’t you?” Oh no, he didn’t. He slaps himself and you almost want to laugh. What a stupid, random guy.
“You shouldn’t even be here! Me and my friend were perfectly fine by ourselves, you being here is a mistake. I don’t care how hot you are, I don’t like you.” You seem unable to filter your words around him, so you turn around and leave. You hear him doing the same thing. In the end, nobody watched television that night.
You text your friend and roommate right after throwing yourself to your bed.
To: roommie
I fought with Mingyu
From: roomie
Really? What happened?
To: roomie
He’s just brutally honest.
And just like that began a push-and-pull with Mingyu you are not very proud of. You fight about almost everything: he nags you for not doing the dishes when you don’t have to and you complain that he keeps leaving the television on playing sumb shows. You even got to fight about your hobbies which are the only thing you have in common.
“I’m so done with you two.” Your roommate tells you. “You guys are the softest around me, why can’t you filter your words with each other?” No one ever answers them.
Christmas is coming and for the first time you are not excited. Your friend leaves to see their family and you stay because your parents are spending holidays somewhere else and you’ll celebrate right after. But the reason why it gets so stressing is because Mingyu is not leaving either.
One day, he steps out of his room looking extremely handsome. He wears a black jumper with a white shirt underneath, jeans and a horrible brown hat.
“How do I look? Be honest.”
“You look really fine, but for the love of god change that hat, it looks like my uncle’s” boring was the word you actually wanted to say. Just boring.
“I- I wasn’t expecting you to answer my question.” You try to play it cool, as if it was a joke so you roll your eyes.
“Our dear roommate left an hour ago.”
“Oh, I always ask them for honest advice about my fashion.”
“Mingyu, your fashion sense is amazing. You always look hot” Once again, you surprise yourself being honest rather than teasing him. Fast, make a comment about how ugly his hair is, “you have nice hair, it will look even better if you keep it swept back.”
“Thank you Y/n, this means a lot coming from someone as attractive as you.” You feel yourself blushing and he immediately turns around and slams the door to his room.
Did I just flirt with Kim Mingyu without being conscious of it? Why is my mouth behaving as if it had life on its own.
Mingyu leaves twenty minutes later, still too ashamed to look at you. He just mumbles something that goes like “date” and you get it. When he comes back, he is not wearing his typical smile and you know something is off.
“How did the date go?”
“Awful.” He looks surprised once again at his own words, but he shakes his head. He looks tired. “I don’t think they were the one for me.”
Come on Y/n -you panick- say something, a little white lie ‘that’s probably because you’re boring’ will do.
“That’s probably because they’re boring.” Oh god, you feel like strangling yourself.
“I think I am the boring one.”
“How can Kim Mingyu be boring?” You asks willingly -this time-
“You tell me, you hate me.”
“I may hate you, but I know for sure that you are not boring. We share hobbies you know? Are you calling both of us boring?”
For the first time, he laughs softly at you and you melt.
Oh no. Feelings. No. Protect yourself.
“I like your smile.” Damn it Y/n.
“Really?” His smile widens and you think you’ve never seen a prettier human being. “I like your smile too, even if I barely see it.” And just like all the times he talks to you, he looks honest. You smile too.
“I should go to bed.” You say, breaking the moment. He nods.
“I should, too. Goodnight Y/n.”
“Goodnight Mingyu. Oh, and don’t rush yourself to find a partner, your soulmate will come when you least expect it. Just enjoy yourself.” And this is the first time you willingly say something nice to Mingyu, sharing the piece of advice you always tell you yourself when you’re feeling down for not having a soulmate.
“I will, thank you Y/n.”
“So you’re telling me Mingyu is the most similar person to your ideal type, that you can’t filter your words around him and that’s why you bickered so much, that you called him hot twice and ever since he goes to you for advice?” Your roommate feels lost a week after coming back from holidays and watching all the furtive glances you’ve sent to Mingyu. You feel lost, too.
“Yes. We’ve been nice to each other ever since. He keeps on asking me for fashion and date advice and I can’t lie to him, I really can’t. I’ve tried everything. Do you know how many times I’ve wanted to tell him he actually looks like an ugly fish? A lot. Wanna know what I end up telling him? That he looks like an adorable puppy.”
“Well, that’s embarrassing.”
“He calls himself a puppy ever since. I want to cry, that's so adorable I feel my heart melting. I hate feelings.” Your friend looks pretty amused at your antics but you are just distressed. “But the best part is that I have developed feelings in what? Three weeks? Just because I can’t contain my words when I’m around him and because he gives compliments back and flirts back and I’m full-time panicking?”
“Wait. He flirts back?”
“He says I’m a kitten because he is a puppy and we fight all the time. Everytime I call him hot he says it’s a big compliment coming from me. He always tells me I’m the best and that he’s glad we’re friends. One time he asked me to cuddle because he stole my blanket and then he stood up and left and so did I”
“Y/n, are you listening to yourself? He’s as embarrassing as you are, he definitely likes you back. Soulmate culture”
“No, he doesn’t like me back. Quit the soulmate thing, we’re obviously not” You sigh, feeling a little sad, “He just thinks it’s a joke and he jokes back and when it gets out of hand he just behaves like the emotionally constipated person he is and I smash my head against the door because I say embarrassing things for real, god knows why, and he just… Jokes.”
“Oh dear.” Your friend gives you a hug and you hug them back. You needed to vent. “But how do you know he’s not interested? He acts very suspicious around you, he won’t ever call me hot. He even may be having trouble to keep his words to himself, that does sound like a soulmate thing, doesn’t it?”
“He’s been going on little dates. Tonight he has another one, he’s just asked me about his outfit and I’ve just embarrassed myself again, that just leaves it pretty clear. He doesn’t like me back. We’ll never be soulmates.”
“Wait, did you just say tonight?”
“Yes, tonight.” Your friend frowns and they check their phone, “is everything okay?”
“It’s just that Wonwoo told me they were going to watch movies. He’s pissed because Mingyu has been a little sad lately and he cancelled his date to console him.”
“They what?”
“Y/n, I’m going ro be honest with you. Since I came you’ve been looking at each other and looking for excuses to be clingy. It's disgusting. Think about this: if you like him a lot, you behave differently around him, you can’t lie to him and you joke-flirt all the time. Maybe that has a special meaning?”
You look at them scared. Mingyu can’t be your soulmate. If he was something would have happened, something else. As you’ve said before, he should be finding it hard to lie to you too. Maybe you’ll need to ask him about it? Mingyu and you... Soulmates... Would it be such a crazy idea? Just when your friend’s about to leave your room to let you think, they receive a message.
“Look at this,” It’s a message from Wonwoo, it reads: why is Mingyu coming all dressed up? “talk to him, okay?”
You wait for Mingyu to come. It’s late when he’s back and your roommate has already gone to sleep.
“Hi” he greets.
“Hi,” you greet back
C’mon Y/n, you can do this, just ask a simple question ‘did you have fun on your date?’
“Did you have fun with Wonwoo?” I hate myself.
Mingyu looks surprised but he laughs it off.
“Did Wonwoo tell you?”
“No, he told our roommate,”
“And why did our roommate tell you about it?”
Okay, you have to lie just one more time. If this one works out, you just forget about Mingyu being your soulmate thing. Just try this: ‘Because they asked me about you”
“Because I asked them about you,” you have no remedy.
Mingyu raises his eyebrows. You are not in the teasing mood.
“Look, I just want to ask you something. If the answer is no you can just forget this has happened and we can move on. Do you find it hard to lie to me? Because I find it hard to lie to you. I just can’t. It was nice when we were fighting over factual things like who left the tv turned on, but it’s not anymore because I keep telling you things I feel deep inside and you just make jokes about it.”
“What type of things, Y/n?” His gaze is intense and you have to look away.
‘That you are the worst person I’ve ever met’ try it, just one more little lie.
“That you are the best person I’ve ever met. That you are incredibly hot and attractive and you can pull any outfit and you are so nice and easy to be with. That I appreciate our friendship because I think it’s sincere and I’m not always that honest with my friends and that makes it special, but sometimes I say things I don’t want to say because you don’t feel the same.”
“That you hate me?”
“That I love you, Mingyu”
Mingyu releases all the breath he didn’t know he was holding.
“You know how hard it was for me to figure out why I was being an idiot with you? I love my Netflix shows and I don’t really want to give anyone the remote but I always end up doing it because it’s not that big of a deal, why couldn’t I do it with you? Why was I being so rude and careless?” He looks embarrassed but then he smiles, just the way you want him to smile, “and then everything changed between us and I didn't want to compliment you but it was so easy not lying to you. You looked just fine afterwards so I supposed you took it as a joke and continued. Just to let you know, y/n, I mean them.”
“So they weren’t jokes?”
“I can’t joke about this because with you I always say what’s on my mind. And in my head you’re the most precious person ever.” You feel like crying, finally a mutual feeling. This feeling can only be resumed in one word: soulmate “You weren’t joking either?”
“I wish I was, just how many times have I embarrassed myself in front of you?”
“As many as I did.” Mingyu runs to your side on the sofa and hugs you tightly, “do you know how many times I’ve wanted to do this?”
“As many as I did” you hug him back and rest your head on his chest. His heart is beating as fast as yours. “Does this mean you won’t go on dates anymore?”
“Why would I? I have a soulmate that I love.” You peck his lips and he gives you another kiss right after, “besides, they weren’t dates, they were friendly hangouts with Seungcheol and Joshua, and sometimes Wonwoo.”
“But why did I dress you up then?”
“A little white lie maybe? You just assumed they were dates and I never stopped you, I like going well-dressed everywhere though. Wonwoo still doesn’t get it.” You snort. “I haven’t gone on a date ever since I understood I liked you, at some point in Christmas.”
“We can stop with the little white lies then?”
“They don’t work out,” he smiles and goes for another kiss, “and I can finally tell you I love you anyways.”

Quarantine Times
These days, there was little Cardan hated more than online classes.
It was hard enough to focus on the professor's words when there was no one to keep him in line without the added temptation of staring at Jude's screen while she paid attention, her brows drawn together in concentration as her lips pressed in a thin line. He had the face memorised now from how often he stared at her during class or in the cafeteria while she talked to her friends or in the library where she'd read for hours, lost in her own world.
Even at the ass crack of dawn, she looked beautiful. Her face had that concentrated look when she focused on something. Her auburn hair were braided neatly to the side of her head, her dark, half asleep eyes staring at the screen with an intensity as though she was willing the whole screen to explode into pieces. She bit her lip, tucking a strand of her hair back—
"Zoom classes are for studying, not so you can stare at your crush," Dain said, looking up from his phone.
Cardan gave him a hard look but it did nothing to wipe the shit-eating grin from his elder brother's face. He said through gritted teeth and barely restrained temper, "Jude isn't my crush."
His brother looked amused. "Do I look like a fool to you, brother?"
He did. He very much did look like a fool with that smarmy grin and the knowing look Dain sent him. Cardan told him as much but it only made Dain grin wider than before. He patted his little brother on the shoulder. "It's okay to admit you like her, brother. She's smart and pretty, even you can admit that, rivals and all."
But they weren't rivals anymore. They had been once—all through middle school—but there was no fight or bitter feelings on his side, at least. Not since Cardan went and gods-damned crushed on his enemy somewhere between all the unresolved arguements and hurled insults and attempted sabotages and the many, many pranks. She snuck up on his heart that way. He didn't notice she had coiled herself around his head so deep until she was all he thought about. As far as he was concerned, the rivalry between them was resolved.
"But you aren't," Cardan said, pouting at the idea of his brother liking Jude. "Leave me alone, Dain."
Dain grinned again, cooing at him. "Aw, look at you being jealous, brother. Don't—" his words were cut off by the pillow Cardan threw at his brother's face. The other got him in the stomach but he was still laughing, zoom meeting forgotten as he ran around the room, trying to dodge and weave around the pillows and cushions Cardan aimed at him, making a mess of the room in the process.
"I'm leaving, I'm leaving," Dain surrendered, running out of the room.
Cardan once again focused on the screen, watching her write whatever it was. His own video was turned off right now and as if his thoughts had directed their teacher's attention towards the fact, the man said, "Cardan Greenbriar, open your video. And keep it open." Cardan watched Jude look up at the screen when she heard his name. Her brown eyes looked prettier when they stared through him (even though she wasn't looking at him but at her screen, it sure did feel like it) and the tense shoulders were drooped now, Jude looking more relaxed than ever.
He didn't realize what she was frowning at until he noticed he had turned screen sharing on instead of video.
Which meant everyone could see the wallpaper in his phone, a photo of Jude at a recent bonfire party where he'd apologized for years worth of pranks and she refused to believe him, convinced that it was some trick. Colour rose to her cheeks and his own ears pounded with warmth as he fumbled with the features on his phone, turning screen sharing off. The damage was done, Jude was looking at her screen with colour rising on her cheeks before she left the meeting.
Nicasia was hiding her smile behind her hand, Locke looked pissed off and Taryn had a surprised, lost look on her face.
Cheeks burning with embarassment, he ignored the looks his friends gave him as he stared straight ahead. Most looked positively scandalised, as if they'd just seen the earth turn upside down or something. He didn't know how he endured through the class but he buried his face in the pillows, groaning loudly in shame.
His phone buzzed, an unknown number flashing across his screen. "Hello?"
"You have me as your wallpaper," Jude said, her voice amused. There would be no mincing words then.
Trying to save face one last time, Cardan reasoned, "Yeah, uh, it was more for the sake of the scenery in the background." He realized his mistake when he saw that the scenery he was talking about was a brick wall that Jude leaned against, laughing as she held a can of beer in her hand while the other rested on her thigh.
Jude said in a teasing tone, "Ah, yes, the background. Beautiful."
He had never known Jude to act like this—this bold and confident and teasing. She always shied away from the simplest of flirting. Perhaps she was more comfortable over the phone? He couldn't fathom another reason why she'd be so willing to talk to him now. He was mortified still.
"I can change it though, I'm about to—I mean, if that makes you uncomfortable. Not that I care what you think," then cursed himself for falling into old habits of insults when he got flustered. "I mean I do care what you think—because you're my friend, of course. Like, we're not friends yet, I know, I know. But I'd like to be. I don't want to make assumptions on who we are. I mean, we hated each other but I don't hate you now. I like you. Like, gods, I don't like you but—"
"Cardan, breathe," her calm voice instructed from the other side. Jude said, "Is that the only reason I'm your wallpaper, Cardan? The background?"
There was no way she believed his lame ass excuse about his background. Jude was too smart for all that, and she had an ability of spotting all his tells from childhood. He instead changed topics in favour of outright lying, "Darling Jude, I've never known you for being bold."
She huffed. "You callin' me a wuss?"
Now that his mortification had somewhat subsided, he heard the slur in her voice. "Jude, are you drunk? At nine in the morning?"
"I saw the wallpaper and panicked. Vivi said I needed alcohol, we broke into Madoc's wine cellar." Laughter escaped her lips.
"Jude, darling," Cardan said, deciding to shoot his shot now, hoping Jude was not the kind of drunk who would forget everything when she was sober again. "Fine. I have you on my wallpaper because I like looking at you. You—You're cute and I, kind of, sort of like you. Like, for a while." If she remembered this later, he'd finally have confessed. If she didn't, then it was his own bad luck. He just had to say it once.
There was a long pause on the other side, followed by a shushing sound. "Don't tell Cardan but I kind of, sort of like him too."
Cardan couldn't stop his answering smile if he tried. "I won't, promise."

Napoleon Bonaparte
Napoleon isn’t very observant, much less at the dining table wherein he eats his meals for a solid 15 minutes tops before he’s retiring to the comforts of his room once again.
But it doesn’t even take observation skills to see how you barely eat at times, how the most you’d do is shove a spoon of food, maybe two, into your mouth, hastily swallowing it down as if you’re being forced to.
So then he asks. Plain and simple, tilting his head and furrowing his brows as his arms wrap around your waist, your paced breathing the only sound resonating through his room.
“Why don’t you eat that much?”
Napoleon feels the way you tense up underneath his strong arms, hears how your breathing seems to quicken. In an instant, you’re wriggling yourself out of his grasp, he propping himself up on his elbows to stare at you and the sudden distance between the two of you in confusion.
“Nunuche, did I say something wrong? I’m sorry if—”
“It’s fine, Napoleon.” Your voice is all sorts of tiny and wavering, unable to look him in the eye as you fidget with your fingers — the sight only causing his heart to clench. “It’s just… I, uh, don’t like gaining weight. I want to be, uh, thin — perfect, if you will.”
You don’t look up. You couldn’t. If you did, you would have seen how the past Emperor of France — no, not even — how the man who loves you and only you breaks, cerulean eyes glossing over and a lump forming in his throat.
And he says, plain and simple, tilting his head and furrowing his brows as his hand reaches out to caress the warm skin of your cheek.
“But.. you’re already perfect. Maybe not to yourself, but to me. And… you’re all I need, in all honesty.”
It’s too much, you think. Being loved like this. Because that’s all it took for something inside you to snap, for you to start sobbing, Napoleon pulling you into his arms as he rakes lithe fingers gently through your hair, pampering the crown of your head with light kisses and sweet nothings.
He holds you like that all until you fall asleep, and even after.
Ever since then, Napoleon had taken it upon himself to dine with you, waiting patiently for you to finish your food before even thinking of going anywhere.
It’s slightly embarrassing, how he watches you with such a proud smile on his face, one he denies having whenever you point it out.

The first time Leonardo finds you asleep when he gets back to his room, he simply brushes it off as exhaustion from your many chores.
And he’s not fully wrong, just has a full chunk missing. He happens to find said chunk out when you proceed to collapse in his sturdy arms, wearily mumbling for him to carry you back to the bedroom.
When he finally sets you down into a comfortable position, sitting down beside you on the bed, Leonardo’s simply staring at you, a frown on his face and creases forming on his forehead, yet remaining silent.
“... Aren’t you gonna ask me why?” Your voice is small, unable to meet his gaze.
He speaks slowly, brushing stray strands of hair out of your face, “You’ll tell me if you want to, cara mia.”
And god, how blessed you are to have such an understanding man. It takes a while before you finally say, “I just… don’t want to gain weight. Every time I look in the mirror, I loathe what I see.”
It’s momentarily silent, though his fingers never cease moving around your face. Then, finally, with his gruff voice the softest you’ve ever heard, he sighs.
“You know, cara mia, I look at you, I see beauty.” Before your mouth is opening, ready to spew denials, he continues, tilting your head to his. “Not just in your face, or your body, but in your soul as well.”
Leaning in closer, inches away from your face, you can only hold your breath. Then, he smiles — a real, genuine smile that only makes your heart melt.
“And I know you might not believe it, but I have all the time in the world to show you what I mean, don’t I?”
He helps you through any and every challenge the both of you face — because it’s not just your struggle anymore, it’s his as well; you are the one he loves, after all.
Most definitely spoon feeds you with that teasing smirk of his at times. It’s enjoyable for him, really, but you have to stop yourself from slapping that damned smirk off his face.
Arthur Conan Doyle
It’s no secret that Arthur was a rotten flirt before your relationship, or that women practically fling themselves onto his arms even after you two had gotten together.
You can’t help but to think each and every girl that tries to hit your lovely boyfriend up seems to be getting prettier and prettier, thinner and thinner. Of course, Arthur politely pushes them away to link himself back to you, but that doesn’t stop your thoughts from running wild all the way back to the mansion.
Try as you might, you’re unable to hide anything from a writer — and not just any writer, the famed writer of Sherlock Holmes who just so happens to be the one you’ve shared yourself with over and over again.
So when you find yourselves back in his room after a long day, resting quietly on his soft bed, it’s no surprise when you feel his hot breath on your cheek, or the slight creak of the bed under his added weight. Your eyes crack open to Arthur’s face inches away from yours in a position you’re well-acquainted to, though the expression on his face differs.
Worry gleams in those normally jovial eyes of his, unthwarted even when you run your fingers through his hair soothingly, just the way he likes it.
“What were the thoughts going through that pretty little head of yours earlier?”
His voice is hushed, though clear as day in the empty room. The question has you pausing momentarily, before dropping the hand previously lost in his messy locks.
You hum, caressing his face, though a faraway look sets itself in your eyes, “Those girls are really pretty. And they’re so thin. Should I lose some more weight? Sleep in tomorrow to miss breakfast? I absolutely hate my bo—mmph!”
Your words were muffled when Arthur’s lips crash onto yours, silencing you in mere seconds. When he pulls away only leaving the both of you breathless, you almost wish his face wasn’t so close — the pain etched in every line of his face was horrible.
Wordlessly, he kisses every part of your skin, intent on leaving nothing untouched, slight tingles following in its trail. As if saying “I love this, I love you.”
He had never really been good with words when it came to his own emotions, and yet that night had him repeating three simple words over and over, as if saying a prayer he wished to ingrain into your heart and mind.
Arthur proceeds to act like an overexcited puppy with you, bringing you any and every type of food he thinks you’d like.
You never have the heart to say no, especially when his chest puffs out in pride after you take a bite.
Theodorus van Gogh
You estimated that it would take about a week or two for someone to notice your regressing eating habits. But having Theo as a lover pulled your estimations way back.
So here you are, awkwardly staring at the man, his eyebrows raised and the words he’d previously uttered racing through your mind.
“Do you think I wouldn’t notice how you’re barely chomping anything down anymore?”
Your actions are stiff, fidgeting with your fingers while you avert your gaze. “I.. thought you’d be busy, is all.”
“Busy enough to ignore the fact that the one I love is starving?” You wince at the edge in his tone, one he notices, only causing him to sigh.
Covering the distance between you two, Theo gently pushes your chin up to meet his gaze, all sorts of worry clear in his bright eyes. With pink tinging his ears, his tone softens, not once breaking the eye contact.
“I care about you, schatje. You’re the only one I can ever love. Remember that, yeah? So I don’t have to keep repeating it…” He trails off, cheeks flushed a hot red and bottom lip caught in between his teeth in a way that only induces a watery chuckle from you.
Theo never forces you to eat anything you don’t want to, but he serves as your cheerleader — more like drill sergeant, in actuality. He always finds subtle ways to get you to eat a bit more, bringing you home some food he deems healthy whenever he goes out.
Though he doesn’t comment on it, he’s extremely happy whenever he sees you eating more than usual, desperately trying to hide the smile on his face from you.
He offers you some of his pancakes at times — he doesn’t even offer them to Vincent. It’s a heartwarming gesture coming from the tsundere.
Comte de Saint-Germain
Do not underestimate this man — Comte is far more observant than he lets on, so the very moment you decide to revert back into your starvation habits, he’s immediately right behind you.
He, however, is also very understanding, and it takes him a good portion of the day to conjure up a way to tackle the situation.
Finally, when you’re languidly running a brush through your hair, Comte takes it upon himself to snake up behind you, pressing his warm body against your back.
“I’ve noticed how you haven’t been eating as much.”
His voice has no trace of accusation — only a simple, no-nonsense statement, bringing you to relax your tense form once more.
Gauging your reaction, he continues carefully, “Do you mind telling me why?”
“It might sound silly but… I’m afraid you’ll leave me if I gain weight.”
Your soft reply only has his eyes widening, mouth gaping ever-so slightly in a way you thought unfit on his regal face.
Then, gently tilting your head to face him, his golden eyes meet yours, smile not-all that bright — slightly pained, if you will — yet he still tries.
“Although you might not believe my words now, this heart of mine belongs to you and only you, ma chérie.”
He must have seen the slight hesitancy in your eyes, the thoughts whirling in your head. A gentle smile sets itself unto his face, his large, smooth hand moving to grasp your own.
“Besides, I have all this time on my hands, and I wouldn’t mind spending it all on you.”
Comte’s with you every step of the way, getting every and anything you need or want
He also takes it upon himself to cook you some meals as well — ones bordering on the thin line between digestible and inedible; apparently not all immortals have cooking skills — but it’s the thought that counts.

༻༺༻༺༻ღ༺༻༺༻༺
So… you might be panicking.
A little.
To be fair, all of your worries were justified, every single one of them, and that was why you voiced them.
“What if he’s gonna attack me? I mean, you thought I was a fake.”
“What if he passes out from the shock? I know no first aid! I barely know my own name!”
“What if he jumps out of the window? I mean, I might if thought I was seeing a ghost-“
Natasha Romanoff shot you an amused glance, continuing her stroll through the halls of Tower, and you had a hunch you weren’t the only one well-aware that the last question was simply you making excuses for not meeting your soulmate just yet.
It wasn’t that you didn’t want to. You did, so, so much, but at the same time…. yeah, you were definitely panicking.
“He’s not gonna jump out of a window. As for the other cases, which are about as likely, I’m gonna be there with you to make sure it doesn’t happen before you get to actually talk. Happy?”
Not really.
Your brain was still coming up with more ridiculous what ifs, that annoying little things, and now your frantic heart and the actual worries joined the party and you had a strong urge to spin on your heels and walk the fuck away.
“What if… what if he hates me?” you whispered, your chest tightening at the thought. That was the real concern, wasn’t it? “I mean, I’m alive and he was through hell, because he thought I wasn’t. What if he hates me, because I didn’t come sooner? I can’t even remember him – how messed up is that?”
It wasn’t until the redhead stopped in her tracks and turned to look at you that you realized you had in fact frozen on spot.
“He’s not gonna hate you, милашка,” she assured you with softness you didn’t expect her to be capable of, her features compassionate and kind. “None of that was your fault.”
You ignored whatever she had called you in favour on focusing on more important matters. “But neither it was his.”
A smile flirted on her lips, a simple tug of the corners of her mouth, brief – but you still saw it as she continued walking then, speaking up again.
“You tell him that.”
“Uh-huh…”
By the universal law of the Universe, the she only took few more steps before facing the captain’s door, apparently.
“Ready?”
“Not really,” you murmured honestly, earning an understanding nod.
“That’s fair. Jarvis? Is he decent?” the spy asked lowly as she gently pushed you in front of herself so you entered first.
Instead of an answer, the door slowly opened upon the AI’s command, effectively sending your heart to a gallop you weren’t sure it could handle. The door could creak for a dramatic effect and you wouldn’t be able to hear it over the whooshing noise in your ears.
Natasha Romanoff might have nudged you to come in. You weren’t sure; your legs carried you on their own without you remembering ordering them so.
The spacy bedroom slash private living room with a couch and coffee table was plain. Nothing special about it, huge slats covering a window replacing one of the walls only partly opened.
Sure, it was kinda impressive and it kinda wasn’t and it didn’t matter the moment you had laid your eyes to the second door of the room right opposite to the window.
A blond man stood still in the doorway to what you assumed was his bathroom, hand frozen in motion as it went through his damp hair.
You couldn’t help but stare at him for several reasons.
Firstly, he looked… familiar. There was an air around him, screaming sincerity and gentleness, kindness. Comfort. And sorrow.
You had seen the pictures of him, sure, the video even, but this was something quite different. Upon meeting him in flesh, you somehow knew… it wasn’t all a lie. You were meant to find him and your racing heart and mind were on board with that.
He was also incredibly handsome. You had met a real-life angel and you were confident he must have helped to sculpture this man’s face and body. He was wearing a white tank top, revealing his muscled arms, dark sweatpants hanging from his thin waist, seemingly even thinner with comparison to his broad shoulders.
His face had shock written all over it, but still held beauty no man should possess. Men were supposed to handsome, but seeing his eyes, you couldn’t help but think of the word beautiful. His lips were plump, no doubt prettier than yours, his cheekbones and strong jaw were a gift from God and… you had a hunch that when his hair wasn’t wet and was lighter tone, it resembled a glowing halo.
For some reason and out of nowhere, you recalled the phrase ‘I once saw a man so beautiful I started crying’ and had to wonder if the author of those words thought of this man when writing them down. You could totally see that happening.
Your gaze was glued to him, the depth of his eyes leaving you unable to form words.
“I hate dreams like this,” he whispered hoarsely, sending a shiver down your spine.
His voice, god, his voice, the one you had heard in the video, carrying the same pain, but more importantly, the one you had been hearing in your dreams … said the words written on your skin. There was no doubt now.
It didn’t make you less dumbfounded. What should you even say in a moment like this? What could you say to a man who was your soulmate, the mere sight of you chasing tears into his eyes, because you were supposed to be dead?
“I’m sorry?” you offered hesitantly, causing the man – Steve, Steve Rogers, he had a name, he was your soulmate for god’s sake – release a choked sound. You needed no other confirmation of your words matching the mark on his collarbone.
Also, go me. What a first line to bless him with on his skin.
No other words were exchanged, two people utterly mesmerized by one another, starring at each other in stunned silence.
Agent Romanoff, leaning onto the doorframe, cleared her throat, causing you both to wince. You had totally forgotten about her, to be honest. Clearly, so had the captain.
“Before you ask: yes, she’s real, Steve. Very real,” she emphasized as if she wanted to prove his exclaim about dreams wrong. “She’ll explain what she can, which… isn’t much. Just so you know we ran every test possible already. She’s no faker. I’ll leave you two some privacy.”
With a quiet clank, the door closed shut when she slipped from the room and seemingly, she took all the air from your lungs with her. Or maybe just your ability to speak, you weren’t sure.
“You’re… what—how?” he asked, his face pure shock, unhealthily pale.
Seeing a tear rolling down his cheek and hearing his voice crack nearly broke your heart.
You had a feeling you had always been a softie, the story about soul bonds torn apart enough to make you weepy… living it though? Being in the centre of such heart-breaking story, standing few feet from the man who had lost his soulmate, being able to almost touch the pain and shock on his face, only now noticing the lines of exhaustion, the bags under his eyes… your own eyes started to burn with tears. Again.
He took several hesitant steps closer, his gaze fixed on your features.
“Ca-captain Rogers, I…” His face twisted in a strange grimace, causing your stomach to clench. He probably wasn’t happy about you calling him that. You had been calling him Steve, at least in the video. Obviously. “I mean… Mr. Rogers. Steve.”
He seemed utterly confused and you couldn’t say you blamed him.
You were all really friggin’ confused, alright.
“I don’t… I don’t understand. You-- you-“
“Look just like the woman in the video? The one telling you to-“ let her die. Your stomach rolled over at finishing the thought. You tried to shake it off, focusing on keeping your voice somewhat even. And on actually explaining the situation as much as you could.
“I know. I didn’t remember my name, I don’t remember me, my family, my friends. I don’t… I don’t remember you and yet… there is no way I’m not the person everyone claims I am and you… you seem familiar and I heard your voice in my dream, which is entirely crazy and…-”
Steve watched you, mesmerized and frowning as you chuckled self-depreciatingly. Not knowing what to say next, you unbuttoned the top of your shirt, revealing your collarbone, first the crossed-out words, only then the fresher ones.
Steve erased the distance between you completely, reluctantly holding the hem of your shirt to see.
And the strangest thing was that you wanted him to linger with his gaze. To touch your skin even, run his fingertips over the words, hell, place a kiss over them… and it should freak you out, wanting this from a stranger, but it felt right. You weren’t intimidated by the intimate proximity of a man whom you just met. You liked it. You felt safe. You longed for his arms around you.
Rather than saying your desires out loud – and it would be ridiculously easy under his intent eyes – you breathed in slowly and collected your thoughts.
“I’m… this is gonna sound insane, but Ms. Romanoff already heard this whole story and I know it’s incredible, ‘cause it kinda involves angels and resurrections, but if you’re willing to listen-“
“I’ll listen,” he promised lowly, his brilliant eyes – not blue as you thought at first, but with a little drop of green paint in them, as if God thought of the blue being too perfect and the joke ended up being on him, because they were breath-taking – meeting yours, a vow heavier than his words written in them.
Your breath hitched when the pools of the fascinating colour welcomed you sincerely. You… you wanted to drown in them.
“Thank you. I… you should see something first though.”
“More than the words?” he asked in a whisper, bewildered.
You nodded, taking a hesitant step back, his fingers hovering in the air for few seconds, twitching even, before his hands fell to his sides. You hastily fished out your fake ID to cover the fact his motions made you blush and handed the item to Steve, who frowned in confusion.
You licked your lips and went to explain.
“Sam, Dean and Cas – the men who helped me to get here and find you – they…” How exactly you should put that? Telling a superhero that they faked your ID? “-ugh, they found me and faked my ID since I needed it in order to… eh, exist. And I don’t remember a thing, alright? I didn’t know my name until I read about myself on the internet and Ms. Romanoff – Natasha, ironically – confirmed it, along with the Jarvis. So I picked one. ‘Natasha’ came to my mind first. And-“
“-and Rogers,” he breathed out, slowly lifting his gaze. You couldn’t read his expression, but there was undeniable fascination in his sparkling irises.
“I don’t know you and yet I do. I don’t remember us, but there’s this feeling. I believe this isn’t a coincidence. Or maybe it’s nothing,” you chuckled self-depreciatingly once more. God, what were you doing now… “Maybe I’m not supposed to be here, maybe I’m being silly now-“
Steve interrupted you with a watery laugh, tears springing from his eyes. The sound shut your mouth effectively, surprising you greatly.
“What?”
“It was one of the first things you told me. You being silly. Stupid even,” he explained and your chest tightened. What did that mean? And how could you not remember that dammit!
“…oh. Did you… agree?” you pried, worrying your teeth over your lower lip, only to earn a gentle shake of his head.
“No.”
“What did you say?”
A sad smile graced his lips, soft thing full of sorrow and fondness. “I’ll tell you later if you still want me to.”
“I will!” you reassured him swiftly, perhaps to eagerly. You weren’t sure whether it was the prospect of his presence or learning about yourself (and him) that had you so eager. Probably a bit of both. “I… I’d like to hear the story behind my soulmark too... and to know yours.”
He nodded, thoughtful. “Okay. I promise to tell you everything I know as long as you ask it.”
The message of you having the courtesy to set the direction and pace of the next moments – or perhaps hours, days – didn’t escape your attention and warmed you heart, causing your lips to turn upright a fraction.
“You’re a truly kind person, aren’t you?” you more stated than asked lowly and Steve lowered his gaze as if sheepish, scratching the back of his neck as his eyes frantically searched the room.
“You… uhm, you can judge that later. Why don’t… why don’t we sit on the couch?”
And here went the kindness again…
“I’d like that. I think it’s better if you sit down for what I have to say too.”
༻༺༻༺༻ღ༺༻༺༻༺
You were surprised Steve didn’t interrupt you once.
Sure, his face spoke volumes whenever you found enough courage to look up at it, instead of keeping your gaze down in your lap, mostly fascinated by your fiddling fingers.
At the end of your narration, you shrugged and sighed in relief of getting it all out.
“So, here I am. Zero memory besides the dreams of you talking to me and calling me ‘doll’. I’ve seen a video of myself dying, learned about people actually lighting candles for me all over the United States, like I’m… I don’t know. That’s a kind of thing done for Princess Diana, for god’s sake. I did my reading – because I don’t remember who that was. I don’t know things and I—I don’t want to complain, I was apparently brought back from death, I should-- I should be grateful, I know that much, and I am, okay, but-“
You weren’t sure when you had lost control over your brain to mouth filter, when you had lost control over your emotions, because since meeting him, you had been somehow coping, so why now, why-- why were you just pouring words to the limited space between you and couldn’t just stop-
Large, slightly calloused and very much warm hand caught your suddenly trembling fingers. Your mouth fell shut, your eyelids closing on instinct. Why was there the burn in your eyes again as if you wanted to cry? You had no right to cry.
…did you?
“Hey, hey, don’t do this,” Steve coaxed you, his other hand brushing your shoulder and you just wanted him to hug you. You would take the soothing touch and calming circles drawn on your shoulder since he offered at least that though, but god, a hug would feel so much better. “You lost your memories. Your life.”
“You lost your soulmate,” you whispered back, opening your eyes with a shaky breath. He averted your gaze and you caught a flicker of shame and anger before he did so.
“I killed my soulmate,” he corrected you, his voice turning hoarse and hard, his touch disappearing from you. You wanted it back instantly, already missing it and hating how his hands clenched into fists in what could be self-hatred.
You shook your head. You two were being ridiculous and downright stupid. Instead of being happy to find each other again – though not quite – you were having a pity party and going for guilt trips. You bit your lip nervously when reaching to cover one of his fists for a change.
His fingers immediately twitched and you fought the instinct to pull away. Or lean in?
“You were given an impossible choice, Steve. No one can blame you for trying to save everyone.”
“I can. I do… as should you,” he uttered and you sighed, realizing that maybe he did believe you that you meant it – maybe he didn’t –, but it didn’t matter as long as it was eating him up from inside.
You shrugged rather light-heartedly, but took special care to emphasize every word that came out of your mouth next, to show you were hundred percent serious and honest.
“Well, I guess I don’t. All of this sucks and I cannot imagine what it’s like for you, me being here, maybe acting… differently than—ugh, than me. The me you know. The me that remembered us. But I’m here. Alive. If there’s a chance…”
This got him look at you, expression conflicted. Yeah, you understood ‘conflicted’, alright. You wanted to learn everything you forgot, but upon saying out loud how hard it must have been for him, you realized just how natural would be for him to ask you to leave and let him have his peace after… everything.
“But if… if you want me to leave, I mean, I won’t be very happy about it, but-“
His fist opened immediately, gripping your hand almost painfully before you could even pull away an inch.
“Please don’t!” he pleaded hastily, effectively starling you. His features softened when you nodded then, his eyes burning with sincerity. “If you still want to hear about how we met…”
“I’d like that very much,” you attempted to smile at him, calmness washing over you when his face lit up.
Crisis averted.
Though not the threat for your heart. It didn’t ache as much as it had when you first entered – but boy, now it started swelling in your chest as his eyes sparkled, his whole being coming a bit more to life. It was a breath-taking show to watch.
“Do you want something to drink? I’m being a terrible host, sorry-“
He stood up quickly, releasing your hand, his own instantly going to clutch at the fabric of his sweats. It was endearing, seeing him being the nervous one.
“Feels like you’d be entitled. But you’re doing fine, Steve.”
“O-okay. Tea?”
“I guess…? I found out I don’t really have a thing for coffee…?” you explained hesitantly and for some reason, it brought a smile to Steve’s face. Maybe there was a story?
“I wouldn’t expect you to.”
Right. You probably hadn’t been a coffee person before- before. That would make sense. Him knowing that would make even more sense.
“Well, I’m glad at least some things apparently don’t change.”
A hint of a blush painted his cheeks and you watched him, fascinated. Aw, now that was so precious. Why blush though?
“I… uhm, I still have what used to be your favourite tea stocked, so… maybe that?”
Your lips parted at his thoughtfulness. It made you wonder though; just how far your relationship had been when you had… ugh, died? Were you official? Probably. Was there any funny business involved? With your dreams, you had a pretty good idea about that, but you could never be sure they weren’t just memories of your fantasies. Were there… plans for the future already?
Just how well did you know each other? How much you were robbed of? How much of you Steve was missing? How could you not remember this amazing man, who apparently cared about you so deeply?
Your dark thoughts must have shown on your face, because he wavered.
“Or not. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to, uh, freak you out or-“
“No! That’s not—it’s just-I--it-ugh-“ Oh wow, you were so terrible at speaking. ”That… the tea, yeah, that sounds pretty nice.”
His smile had faltered earlier, now returning, only less convincing. “Okay. I’ll be right back.”
“And I’ll be waiting right here,” you declared, patting the couch with both hands for demonstration.
Perhaps it was only your imagination, but he actually seemed assured at that. Less worried.
Yeah, you definitely made that up.

Out Past Curfew (Pt. 4/5)
“He’s gone, Draco.. You can put me down.”
Your voice was incredibly soft in the moment, and you weren’t angry. Nor upset. Nothing. Your face was hot, and it was burning with embrassment as the blonde finally returned you to your feet upon Snape’s leaving. You stood in front of him for a second, both of you having to stand close due to the small confined space of the stall.
You were completely still, and so was he except for his breathing, which caused his chest to move forward and backwards. Your chest was frozen, and you were still holding your breath just like before. Despite not having a reason, you couldn’t bring yourself to breathe. You were afraid.
Afraid of the realization your brain was forcing you into.
Ever fiber of your being hated Draco. You hated him so much. More than anyone else in the school... Yet your mind and your lower regions were both speaking different languages.
He was right. You could hate him all you want, but part of you wanted him. You craved him. Craved his tongue on your skin and his fingers between your folds. You couldn’t deny it, no matter how much you wanted to.
You wanted Draco Malfoy.
You hated him, but you wanted him to fuck you so bad.
“The mind is a confusing thing, Draco..” You exhaled after holding your breath in your lungs, your breathing giving him also a leeway to relax a little bit. He was a bit tense, obviously not meaning to phrase that sentence before like he did. He meant something else, surely, right?
The blonde reached forward and gripped both of your shoulders with his slender yet large hands, pressing his thumbs against your collar bones.
“It’s only confusing because you keep asking it questions.” He reasoned, and your entire body became stiff once more. “But it’ll still be confusing even if I stop asking it questions.” “When you stop asking what you want why you want it and just get what you want.. then you’ll truly be a Slytherin. Stop thinking like a Ravenclaw-“ He reached up one of his hands to tap your temple, and that tap caused you to flinch backwards, feeling like a fish in a tank in response to his tapping.
“I didn’t want to be a Slytherin-“ You admitted, and he scoffed before resting both of his wrists on the crook between your shoulder and your neck. “Well you’re one now, squibby. Own it. Accept it. Fuckin’ embrace it. That’s one of the only things Pansy is better at you at. Being a Slytherin.”
“What else then?”
“Excuse me?” He cocked a brow at you, and you wanted to spit at him, “What else is Pansy better at me at?” “Not much. You’re prettier than her. You’re smarter than you. You entertain me more. And you’re sure as hell have a better body than her.”
You wanted to claim he was lying. Tell him and reassure your brain that he was lying. But you could only wonder. What reason would he have to lie? One of the things that entertains him is putting you down. Crushing your ego. Wilting your spirit. Making you feel like shit. It might as well be on his daily to-do list, because it becomes routine for Malfoy to make you insecure about yourself. Before you got braces, he insulted your teeth.
Before you hit puberty, he insulted your body.
And when you finally became more confident in your own personality and in your own skin, he insulted that too.
“Then what is it about me then that makes you so keen to put you down?” “Don’t want you getting a big head.” Was his only response. Simple, straight to the point. “Don’t want you getting a big head” you repeated to yourself under your breath before you shoved his arms off of your shoulders and grabbed his tie harshly and pulled it forward, forcing his face close to yours to where you could look straight in his eyes.
“I have the biggest head, Draco. You know what? I probably have a bigger dick than you too. I’m not fuckin’ insecure about myself. I love myself. I’m sexy, I’m smart, and I’m sure as hell a better wizard than you. You haven’t shown me in all our years of being at Hogwarts that you’re sexier, smarter, or a better wizard than me. I’m gonna get as big of a head as I want to, and if you try to stop me after today I’m going to deck you right in the nose, got that?” You furrowed your eyebrows at him, never looking more angry than you did right now as you had a vigorous hold on his tie.
“I can prove you wrong on one thing..” He seemed to have blocked out the rest of your rant.. mostly. Your anger surprised him, and you let go of his tie with a jerk, making his head whip back to rest against the stall door. “I have a bigger dick than you.” He licked his teeth, and at this point you couldn’t tell if he was joking or not.
You wanted to stay angry at him. That comment he made certainly gave you leeway to. But as that snarky sentence fell off his lips oh so perfectly timed, you couldn’t help but crack a grin, your laughter escaping into the air as a snort in an attempt to stifle it. “God, you’re a shithead..”
“I’m serious!” He retorted, chuckling deeply as he shoved his hands in the pockets of his robes. “Oh please.. your dick is probably as big as a tic tac.” “I can prove you wrong, like I said.” He was eyeing your chest based on the direction of his eye-line.
“I know damn well you’re not going to pull down your trousers just to show me the size of your cock.” You placed your hand on his arm and began to attempt to push him to the side, which he moved relatively quickly. But before you could pull back the lock of the stall, a slam echoed against the right side of your head and you could spot his hand out of the corner of his eye, placed on the same door you were trying to unlock.
He wouldn’t.
“Only if you get down on your knees for me. Then I might give you the pleasure.” You could hear the smirk in his voice as you turned around, not quite unlocking the door as you noticed how close he was. He was no farther as the length of his arm, which seemed like a lot, but his elbow was bent just to close his face against yours, the both of you practically touching noses.
Memorizing his smell was something you didn’t exactly plan on doing tonight, but when you walked back to the dorm tonight, they were going to smell more than his scent on you.
Throwing your arms up around his neck, you finally made a decision you would’ve harshly strayed away from at the beginning of the night, but regardless, you pulled his head down to close the distance. His lips were calloused and rough, making the kiss mimic the texture, but there was a softness to it as the two of you locked lips.
He could practically smell your begging by the way that you kissed him deeply, being the one to actually initiate the tongue fighting. As he explored the inside of your mouth using his long tongue, your face was still tense, not quite trusting the authenticity of his embrace when his arms wrapped around your shoulders whilst your hands rested on his neck.
But you didn’t care. You wanted to kiss him more badly than you wanted anything else right now, and as you were pushed up even harder against the wall of the stall, you could feel Draco beginning to fiddle with your tie that was fastened around your white collar.
He wanted you pretty bad as well, it seemed.
Nibbling on your bottom lip, he let your tie fall to the floor and he gripped the hems of your robes and began to slip it off your arms, forcing your hands off of his neck and by your sides so he could take off your robe. Then went your vest, and then your dress shirt.
Despite the metaphorical pain that shot through your mouth all the way to your loins, he pulled his lips away from you with a quiet smack to look down at you, surveying your body. He was memorizing every details of your breasts, which were held in a light pastel green bra that was lined with lace and overall looked like lingerie.
A part of you wanted to wear this for yourself, but as time went on, you came to the realization you were wearing this for Draco too.
“You’re beautiful..” He shuddered, bringing one of his hands up to run his fingers over his bottom lip, and you suddenly felt a bit bashful as the compliment registered with you. There was no sign of a lie in his voice, evidently, and you reached up to take off his tie was well, finally. Swallowing thickly, you began to take off his clothes as well. First his robes, then his dress shirt. You both stared at each other, and that’s when you made the relization that if Draco was implying what you thought he was implying.
You were going to lose your virginity tonight.
The bathroom isn’t the most romantic setting, unsurprisingly, and Draco absorbed that. He couldn’t do much now, since both of your clothes were now off, but he at least opened the door subtly that you were leaning on, you nearly falling backwards due to the solid surface that was removed from your back. You didn’t fall though, since Draco quickly hooked his arm around your torso. The chivalrous gesture made you gush a bit, but he nonetheless stepped over both of your clothes and picked you up similarly to before when you were hiding from snap and he placed you on the counter of the sink.
It was a bit better.
You reached down and fiddled with the clasp of his belt before slipping the leathered article clothing out of the loops of his pants. The feeling against your groin from before wasn’t mistaken. He was as hard as a rock. The bulge in his pants was unmistakable, unless he had his wand in his pocket or something.
The movements that followed the removal of his belt from both of your ends were screaming desire and hunger. It wasn’t just you that wanted Draco, and not to toot your own horn, but he wanted you just a bit more than you wanted him.
Maybe.
Helping the removal of your skirt by raising up your legs, whilst sliding them down your legs, he held your ankles up for a moment with one of his hands while dropping the skirt to the floor. “Shit, shit, shit..” You mumbled a bit as he spread your legs apart using both of his hands, running his fingers over your inner thighs.
Whilst leaning down, you felt his fingers run over your clothes womanhood. Your panties matched your bras, as corny as that was, and you were hoping he wasn’t horny enough to actually think about ripping your undergarments. That crossed his mind. You could tell. Letting out a shuddered sigh, you felt the hems of the fabric run circles down your legs as he finally removed your panties after them being soaked throughout the duration of the heated making out the two of you did. You hated how much it fueled his ego to know that just kissing was enough to turn you on.
Though he couldn’t blame you. He was a really good kisser.
He began to tease your folds with his fingers, circling your lips down below with the tips of his digits. Pulling your bottom lip in between your teeth in retaliation, the quivering of your body screaming to the boy across from you that you wanted him to touch your insides, he nonetheless continued to tease you.
You were beginning to become overstimulated from the edged pleasure that he was wrecking throughout your nervous system, now every part of your body wanting nothing more than for Draco to do SOMETHING instead of teasing you. Whether that be fingering you, eating you out, or better, dicking you down, you didn’t care. You wanted him, no matter what form you would take him in.
Finally sensing your desire after feeling the softness of your outsides with his fingers, he pulled his hand away from your hood. Then, he began to lower his head, which excited you yet scared you at the same time. As his face began to close the distance between it and your entrance, you nearly went over the edge in retaliation to his words.
“Might as well taste what I’m about to destroy, don’t you think..?”

Time | Hwang Hyunjin
Pairing: Hyunjin x Itzy!reader (not really explicitly mentioned) Word Count: 2324 Prompt: Hyunjin is super excited to jump right into a relationship while reader just wants to take it slow & get to know him first // based on Sometimes by Britney Spears
“Okay, gotta go.” You grabbed your jacket off the back of the couch and hung it around your shoulders, knowing it would be too hot in the stifling summer heat but you would need it at night. “I don’t know what time I’ll be back,” you told your roommate, Yeji. “Oh, where are you going?” Chaeryeong asked, sitting next to Yeji. Her eyes were starry as always. If there was an image attached to ‘uwu’ it would be Chaeryeong’s face. “She’s meeting her new boyfriend,” Yeji said in a teasing voice, before you could answer. “He’s not my boyfriend,” you said, shaking your head. “Not yet.” “She wants him to be,” Yeji said. This was a conversation you had had many times with her already, so instead of going in against her, you only sighed and said: “I’m going now. Bye.” You waved at Chaeryeong, gave Yeji a death glare as she laughed and left the apartment.
You were set to meet Hyunjin at your shared favourite coffee shop but you walked into him at the corner of the street and he offered to grab ice cream instead, considering the heat. “Sure,” you said. As you walked, he chatted about some project he was finishing up on and you nodded along, taking more time to stare at him. Sometimes you couldn’t believe that Hyunjin, who was possibly the prettiest, most handsome boy in the entirety of Seoul - yes, you were big on hyperboles - would spend his time with you. Although you didn’t think you were ugly, there were far prettier girls out there who seemed to be more like Hyunjin’s type personality-wise. In all honesty, you weren’t sure he had a type, exactly. Yeji, who knew him a lot longer and better than you did, had said he didn’t have a physical type and that his type personality-wise was someone thoughtful who could listen well and was just in general fun to be around. Hyunjin had never had a girlfriend before, nothing serious at least, so you couldn’t say if what Yeji told you was true. You had carefully let yourself wonder about if you met the requirements to be his type. You gave some good advice sometimes and tried to listen to your friends’ worries well. You guessed that could be described as thoughtful too. You hoped you were fun to be around. It is what you liked about being around Hyunjin; he made every situation a little bit brighter. There was something else about him too, something that made you wonder if this was really what you wanted. You could overlook the whole handsome heartthrob aesthetic he had going on, considering you now thought you could judge his personality quite well and he seemed to be the kind of guy you’d easily fall for - in fact, you were still trying to convince yourself you weren’t actually in love with the boy already. But it was just his... eagerness? “You spilled.” Hyunjin pointed at something on your face. “Spilled?” The word didn’t quite connect, your mind still on your doubts about this thing you had with him. “I’ll get it for you.” He grabbed a napkin off the table and leaned over it, using the tip of the napkin to clean a spot right above your lip where you had spilled ice cream. He stayed leaned over the table a lot longer than necessary, eyes locked on yours. You could feel his breath on your face and suddenly you felt nervous, like you were about to jump out of your own skin. “Thank you,” you said softly as he finally leaned back, allowing you to breathe again.
It was later that day when you walked along the river, your jacket slung around your shoulders, his hand swinging in between you two, brushing yours every once in a while as if wanting to grab your hand. But you kept pulling away. As you walked, he told you stories about his childhood, about his friends - “It’s so fun to annoy Minho hyung! He really hates it when I ruffle his hair so it’s so easy to get him going. And then Jisung has to step in and prevent him from killing me, it’s so funny-” - and about his plans for his upcoming break. “Do you have anything planned for that time period?” “I think I might visit family for a bit,” you said, thinking of Yeji. She would be returning to her hometown, where Hyunjin was also from. You thought perhaps you could ask her if you were welcome to stay with her parents for a few days, so you could see Hyunjin. But that was crazy. “But you’re not going overseas?” “I don’t think so,” Hyunjin said. “Shall we sit down for a bit?” He gestured at the riverside. The bank was a high way up from the water, allowing you both to swing your legs over the side and sit at the water’s edge, staring out over the setting sun. It was truly a beautiful sight, but you were too preoccupied with staring at your feet. The toes of Hyunjin’s boots were touching yours and you could feel him creeping ever so close to you. Nervous sparks shot from your toes up to your lips and with a shiver you scooted away a little. Was that hurt you saw in Hyunjin’s eyes? “Y/N, I have to tell you something,” he said. He took a deep breath and you were sure he was going to tell you he didn’t want to hang out with you anymore, that he didn’t think this was going to work out. “I’m in love with you.” You gasped. There really was no better or more appropriate reaction to a sudden confession of love like that. And honestly, you hadn’t thought you would experience it like this. It was movie-like...? Even in your fantasies you had always imagined the magical moment would come in a somewhat unmagical situation, like while you’re doing the washing up or cleaning up some drunk frat boy’s puke after a party. It wasn’t meant to happen like this. Maybe Hyunjin didn’t get the message, because he was leaning closer and closer to you, until there was only a slight gap between your lips. If this had been a cheesy drama you would have pushed him so far away from you, that he would fall into the water. But because this was real life, or something that looked suspiciously like it, you jumped up and said: “I forgot something. I’ll call you. Bye,” and ran away.
“Y/N, come on!” It was Yeji, standing at the door, knocking on it as if she was only minutes away from breaking it down. You had taken the liberty to lock the bathroom door for the first ever time since living with her and she was not having it. “I swear to God I’m going to use whatever spy knowledge I have to break this door open. If you ever want some privacy in that shower again, I suggest you open the door now.” Knowing her, she would actually do it. With a sigh you unlocked the door, going quickly back to sitting in the dry shower. “I don’t want to talk,” you said, pulling your knees up and wrapping your arms around them. “I already know about what happened, so you’d better just listen,” Yeji said. “How do you know what happened?” You looked up, frowning. “Trainee buddies keep in touch.” She waved her phone in front of you, just as it lit up with a text message from Hyunjin. With a groan you put your head back on your knees, closing your eyes. “Allow me to tell you something, baby girl. A little story of Hwang Hyunjin.” Yeji sat down opposite you in the shower, even though it was really not large enough to accommodate two full-grown adults. “Hyunjin doesn’t have a filter. He blurts out everything that comes to mind, he never thinks twice about the way his words impact other people unless it might be hurtful. He never thought that saying he loves you would hurt you.” She shrugged - you could hear her knocking over a shampoo bottle in the process. “Oops. Anyway, believe me when I say that Hyunjin never meant to scare you away. He’s really upset with himself and he wonders what he did wrong. He wants to learn from whatever mistake he made. And because you won’t return his calls - God knows where your phone is - he told me to tell you he wants to meet up again. On your terms.” “O-on my terms?” You looked up slightly and when you saw Yeji’s compassionate expression and encouraging nod, you sighed and rested your chin on top of your knees. “Fine. Text him back and ask him to come by.” “I’ll make myself scarce,” Yeji said, giving you a pat on the head as if you were a cat and then proceeding to wiggle herself out of the shower, already texting Hyunjin.
It was only an hour later that Hyunjin stood on the threshold. You opened the door to a tall boy who was supposed to be an adult human but looked like a kicked little puppy. He wasn’t carrying flowers or chocolates, but you were just as happy to see a tub of ice cream in his hands, of the same flavour that you had in the salon earlier that day. “I know it’s bad for the diet to eat ice cream twice in a day but I figured...” You would never find out what he had figured because you wordlessly took the ice cream, set it aside, pulled Hyunjin inside and wrapped your arms around his torso. There was a moment of silence and stiffness of Hyunjin’s end, when he finally relaxed and wrapped his arms around you. The notable height difference made you feel comfortable and safe and you barely noticed when you tightened your hold around him. When finally you let go, Hyunjin said: “I’m sorry if I was out of line earlier today.” “It’s okay,” you said. Hyunjin went into the living room as you instructed, while you went to grab two spoons so you could eat right out of the tub. When you came into the living room, you were glad to see that Yeji had vacated it. She was probably up in her room, keeping as quiet as possible so she could listen in on your conversation and tell your friends every single detail. You were fine with it. “There you go.” You handed Hyunjin a spoon and sat down next to him - he had cracked open the tub and was ready to dive into it. He had a light blush on his cheeks that you probably mimicked. “You weren’t out of line.” “I wasn’t?” It seemed to be a massive relief to him, seeing you shake your head. The tension visibly left his body. “Then why did you run away?” You wanted to hide away from this conversation, hide away from his words and your previous actions. You were embarrassed about the way you reacted. “That was silly,” you forced out. “I shouldn’t’ve. I should’ve stayed and said what I was thinking.” “And what were you thinking?” Hyunjin said, softly, as not to press you too hard. You shoveled ice cream into your mouth to delay the answer, but you couldn’t delay it forever. “I guess I’m just... scared? I mean...” You shrugged, wanting desperately to shove more ice cream into your mouth. But it was better to just rip off the band-aid like this. “I’m not scared of you - well, maybe a little bit - I’m more so scared of what that means.” “What what means?” “You being in love with me,” you said, very softly, almost like a whisper. “It means...” Hyunjin seemed to be at a loss for words now too. “It means I can’t stop thinking about you, even when we’re not together. And when we are I just keep thinking about the next time I’ll see you. I liked you before I even knew you, Y/N, but now I know that every word Yeji told me about you was the truth. You’re beautiful and thoughtful and sweet. You’re the type of person that helps the elderly cross the road and that volunteers at homeless shelters. You inspire me.” “I’m not,” you said. “Not any of those things you said.” “Is that what you’re afraid of?” Hyunjin said, putting his spoon down now. Oh, it was that serious? you thought. Serious enough to put your spoon down? “That I’m thinking these things of you?” “Maybe?” You shrugged. “I don’t know, Hyunjin. I’m so sorry.” You set your spoon down now too. “I want to believe that everything you say is right and... It’s not that I don’t want to be with you or that I don’t feel happy that you feel that way for me, because it’s sort of the way I feel, I think? I mean... Every time I’m near you I just want to hold you and whenever I’m away from you I want to talk to you. I don’t ever want to be anywhere too far away from you. But... I think maybe it’s too fast?” “Too fast?” Hyunjin repeated, seemingly in a daze. You nodded. “I understand.” “You do?” Now it was your turn to feel relieved. He nodded. “I should have respected you more and understood that you wanted to take these things slowly.” “You respect me enough.” You both watched, Hyunjin motionlessly, as you slowly reached out, grabbing his hand in yours. His hand was a little calloused, the way boys’ hands always are. And your hand was so small compared to his. You smiled, looking up at Hyunjin. “All I need is time.” “And I will give you as much time as you need.”

Liam & Edie
Liam: [a picture of Rio with her eyes crossed out like 1. Miss you and 2. Guess who I just talked to]
Edie: ofc she did 😑
Edie: what’s the damage
Liam: 0 to us I deflected the - to Lexie
Liam: do you want her framed for jumpscaring herself or is there anyone else
Edie: That’s all she cared about?
Edie: Bitch
Liam: it just didn’t take no time to convince her we’re perfect for each other
Liam: bc we are
Edie: yeah we are 🥰
Edie: surprised she copped to anything of the sort though
Edie: clearly can’t resist being nice to you
Edie: Lexie needs to calm down
Edie: 🤔 I mean, be kinda fucking hilarious if everyone reckoned she was doing it to herself
Edie: but maybe I’ve been too mean already 🥺
Edie: what do you think?
Liam: I think it’s pretty close to showing everyone her true colours if we do, Lex has gotta have been talking to your sister about me, I could tell, she thought I was a dick before I talked her round
Edie: She wouldn’t be happy for me unless you were a total 🤓 with no dick
Edie: that’s just what she’s like, crazy
Edie: but also not a stretch to see Lexie being a gossipy cow, I’ve heard her on other people before so
Edie: why would I give a fuck if her life is ruined
Liam: she basically accused me of wanting to hit you up for one reason and then wanting to immediately dip, if she thinks that’s what I’m like that’s only coming from one person
Edie: She’s pathetic
Edie: it’s clearly her saying it because you didn’t sleep with her
Edie: it wouldn’t be hard to spoof some shit, make it look like her
Edie: and she has nothing to say it was me, or you like she thought, and it weren’t no one else so she’s fucked, basically
Liam: [send her some shit that you’ve already started to work on because you knew she’d agree with this plan and the bits of the Rio convo where you said you’d try and find out and made it sound like you thought it was her but obvs it couldn’t possibly be hehe]
Edie: You’re so smart
Edie: She deserves this, she was definitely bitching about you, you can tell from how hard Rih said she weren’t
Liam: don’t be upset with me, but I was thinking about how Lexie also deserves to see us together and you happy and I invited them both to your show
Liam: you did say you want your family to take your music seriously
Edie: I’m not mad
Edie: You invited Rih too so she isn’t going to think you’re trying to get back with her
Edie: and I get to rub that and the fact I’m talented in her face?
Edie: It’s a good idea, baby
Liam: still, if you wanna create me in game and spend your time testing out different murder options, I won’t be mad, I should’ve asked you if it was a good idea before saying yeah to having us all there
Edie: [an 8-bit Liam but obvs we’re making an 8-bit us to smooch him not murder him, a lil gif moment of this or whatever it would be]
Liam: you only want a play through where we 👩🏼❤️👨🏻
Edie: that might make the thread 🤮 but idk if they’d be 😱
Liam: we’ll keep it off thread
Liam: [send her the floor plan to where your dad lives/holiday cottages so she can build it in sims like my boo would, live your dreams kids]
Edie: don’t need to make 50k nerds jealous, I get you
Edie: [just nerd out with that]
Edie: I’ll show you how generic the 👶 is
Edie: very rude
Liam: if the mods and cc don’t fix it, I’ll pretend I don’t 👀
Edie: the 👀 are already insane colours
Liam: no match for yours in real life
Edie: [pics forever]
Edie: [obviously also make your enemies to actually kill and send that]
Liam: if you sent it to Lexie nobody’d believe she created herself looking that accurate
Edie: harsh reality of a sim
Edie: the alpha CC does look like her facetune attempts, tbf
Liam: at least you can make her try to seduce the grim reaper instead of me
Edie: she’ll have ample opportunity to meet him
Edie: [all the dramatic deaths cut with her sim when they get hysterical]
Edie: I’m still mad at her
Edie: Rih blatantly thinking it was me too, not surprising but still 🖕
Edie: how’s it been today
Liam: only bc she knows how smart you are and most people who Lex hangs out with ain’t, I barely had to cover for you so she don’t really wanna think it
Edie: story of her life
Liam: how 😡 are you
Edie: it’s exhausting being mad at her, there’s nothing to do
Edie: people like Lexie, you can fuck with, or care even less than that
Liam: would it make you feel better to fuck with Lexie more
Edie: I wanna make you feel better more
Edie: you must be feeling as bored and crazy as me, if not more
Liam: if I could feel anything it’d be 💔 you’re not happy or here
Edie: is it worse
Edie: nothing
Edie: maybe that’s stupid
Edie: nothing seems preferable sometimes but only sometimes, which is maybe what takes it over feeling too much
Liam: it’s isolating, everyone expects me to feel too much, that’s acceptable, even years after
Edie: acceptance would be easier
Edie: you have me
Edie: no matter what
Edie: idc if no one else gets me, you do
Liam: I dunno what it says about people that they’d be happy if I was going round punching holes in walls but I know my ma would
Liam: she looks at me like she’s waiting for it, watching for a massive crack or something
Edie: they’ve got their reason, they want the reaction
Edie: then they can link a and b and ???
Edie: problem solved, not really
Edie: but they understand it and can wash their hands of you
Edie: that’s what they give a shit about
Liam: yeah
Edie: enough sympathy and hot meals dropped off and you’ll be ‘fixed’
Edie: you weren’t even the sick one
Liam: get enough hobbies, a part-time job, a girlfriend, move the fuck on
Edie: right
Edie: it’s so
Edie: I can’t think of the word
Liam: “she’d want you to be happy/have a life” no she fucking wouldn’t, she wanted it for herself
Edie: dead people get sainted
Edie: no room for who they actually were, better and worse
Liam: she’d hate me having any of those things just to rub in her face
Edie: what was she like, between being sick
Liam: I’ll show you
Edie: do you reckon she’d want you to remember what she’d want for you then, instead of how she was at the end
Edie: not to be like every other cunt about it
Edie: not that simple, or at all
Liam: she was a teenage girl, she’d probably want me to do more fitting in too until I’ve completed the coming of age shite milestones everyone else is, instead of telling other teenage girls from the internet how fucked up I am 😏
Edie: I think that might be a milestone so 👏
Edie: the bullshit of your sister not having her own life to live dealt with then, in this scenario
Edie: we have to find what you want
Edie: even if that’s not 🤵👧🐶🧒👰 with me
Edie: not gonna be Lexie about it, you know
Edie: I’ll still help you find it
Liam: I want you, not to be gay about it
Liam: to see where this is gonna go, how far I can take it before it ends
Edie: then let’s do it
Edie: what can I do today
Liam: what would you be doing if you could do anything
Edie: that’s the problem
Edie: I wanna be with you
Edie: but I don’t know what we’d do yet
Liam: I said I’d show you what my sister was like, the quickest way to do it is to act like nothing matters, your behaviour has no consequences
Liam: it’s not about me at all, only what you want, what’s gonna happen
Edie: and I can’t hurt you
Edie: because you don’t feel anything yet, yeah?
Liam: you can’t hurt me
Edie: you promise
Edie: do that and then we can do what I want
Liam: how do you want me to promise
Edie: 🤏🩸
Edie: mine is 📫
Liam: [brb father he’s gotta go draw some blood and put it into something she can wear as jewellery like Angelina Jolie and record the endeavour to send to the bae]
Edie: [that’s exactly what we gonna send, I know you can legit buy them so I’ll find a cool pic tah, his poor father so confusion]
Liam: [great minds boo]
Edie: kiss it better for me
Liam: [send her another video boy we’re in this deep]
Edie: god
Edie: okay, what do you do to relieve stress, let go and let off steam
Edie: do that
Liam: what do I do or what should you, bc I have an idea that I think would make you feel better about your sister
Edie: you can start by telling me what I should do because I’m intrigued
Liam: she said she’d lose it at Lexie if she did anything to you, if you lower your IQ by at least 100 you could have fun trashing her room but making it look like she did it herself to frame you, you’d have to wait til she was forced out with her family and bc there’s no check in or selfie proof everyone would just think they’re covering for her, but that’d be the only boring bit
Liam: your sister would feel bad for falling for it and believing you might be involved at all
Edie: I definitely don’t want to see her at mine ever again
Edie: I’ll do it
Edie: Bet she has a shrine to you
Liam: a curse would explain me being dead inside
Edie: she has no ✨
Edie: so whilst I’m ripping the heads off all her 🧸s
Edie: you’ve gotta do…
Liam: 🏊 the only thing there is to do
Edie: your da didn’t come prepared? 🔥🪓
Liam: he’d be prepared with a 🧯 more like but I don’t need his help 🔥🪓
Edie: you should see if anyone is around, like anywhere
Edie: see how easy it is to 👀 them without getting caught
Liam: it’s like you know me inside out
Edie: I do
Edie: I’ve got X-Ray 👀s
Liam: next time you miss me you can do an artistic rendering
Edie: of all your vital organs
Edie: not to kill the mystery and show myself up as a fake fan on the forums
Edie: but I think the outside view of you is a lot prettier 😳🥰
Liam: ok I’ll not send you any in the 📫
Edie: only the non-vitals, tah 😏
Liam: what’s left Alexis hasn’t got in her shrine
Edie: she 🥺 so hard you gave her your gallbladder
Liam: 10% risk of shitting myself side effects after it’s gone, 100% chance of that putting her off wanting to jump me, I’d do it
Edie: no need to do that now I’m here
Edie: no one is gonna wanna jump her when she’s outed as 😵🥴🤡
Liam: I’ll keep the scalpel sharp for lads who wanna get with you when they realise you’re 🤩🤓😎😇😈
Edie: I’m not complaining
Edie: I only want you around, ever
Liam: I’ll be going nowhere without you ever when I get back
Edie: Good
Edie: because I feel like
Edie: it’s like I’m doing so much to fill my time but I still just think about and miss you constantly
Liam: I’ll climb a tree and call you from the top
Edie: Describe your view the best you can
Edie: like I’m there too
Liam: facetime’ll make you feel like you are
Edie: not quite VR but I’ll take it

Dash wants to romance Phantom and he should do it - Chapter 1
Fandom: Danny Phantom
Tags: Dash Baxter/Danny Fenton, Kwan, Fluff, ship, Danny is an idiot, hurt/comfort, angst, dating, secret exposed
Summary: Dash had a big secret: he was a hopeless romantic. Taking that a step further, he was hugely pansexual. Put those together and you had a big idiot that had lots of love to give, but nobody to spoil with it. What else could he do but fall hard and fast for Amity Park's hero, Danny Phantom?
you can read it on Ao3 here, along with several new chapters, but otherwise i figured i should get this tumblr running properly and i figured why not do it with a ship fic
Dash Baxter had a terrible, horrid, mind-blowing secret; probably the biggest secret in all of history. The truth is, he was a giant sap. Furthermore, and perhaps worse, he was an absolutely hopeless romantic.
He watched the romance channel every night, eyes glued to the screen with his chihuahua, Pooky, sat in his lap, gazing with the same rapt attention as his owner. It was his favorite time of the day, when he could go home and be himself… well, sort of. His parents would definitely skin him alive if they knew about what he fantasized about (cruises in the moonlight… wide-blown confessions… desperate tears as his lover is begged to stay…). They probably wouldn’t appreciate his sexuality much, either, which he’d figured was pan at this point.
And here was where the main problem cropped up: when Dash fell for someone, he fell hard. Snap his nose, shatter his skull, brain oozing out the ears hard. To make matters worse, he just happened to be attracted to the one man literally all of Amity Park was after as well- Danny Phantom.
Everybody else just wanted Phantom because he was a hero, Dash was sure, but there was so much more to the teenage hero than just the heroics (even though they were fucking amazing!). For instance, the way he grinned after finally beating down a stubborn ghost and it seemed to light up the sky. How he went cackling into a battle at his own horrible jokes. How his hair fluffed cutely when he slowed down to land. How his eyes literally shone with determination and bravery.
Suffice to say, Dash could go on for hours.
Phantom was strong where Dash was weak, brave where he cowered, and beautiful where he was rough.
It was honestly pathetic how badly Dash swooned for the ghost.
---
Dash slid in beside Kwan at their usual table; they were the first ones there, and simultaneously glanced around to make sure no one was in earshot.
“So I got the pictures,” Kwan mumbled, sliding them over face down like some sort of shady dealer.
“Thanks, Kwan. I knew I could count on you.” Dash palmed the photos and tried to discreetly look at them under the table. Looking back at him were several snapshots of Danny Phantom in the middle of battle; most stunning was the one where Phantom was inches from fucking roundhouse kicking some ghost in the face.
“I thought you’d like them,” Kwan said, a little too smug, having seemingly have seen some reaction in Dash’s face, “they were in super high demand when I got there.” He sighed, looking over Dash’s shoulder at the pictures, “Phantom’s just so damn flexible… ”
“Imagine all the spider-man kisses…” he mumbled without thinking, but Kwan just sighed in sympathy.
Kwan was the absolute one and only person he’d ever told about the whole romance thing. Dash had been worried he’d laugh, but he was his best friend. They’d both been sat in front of the tv watching the romance channel within the hour. He couldn’t ask for a better best friend.
Finally, the other A-listers began to join them, so Dash tucked the pictures away and settled into the routine of gossip.
---
It’d been a long, long , wait, chocked full of flustered planning, working part time jobs, and reciting, but Dash finally had everything ready to confess.
To fucking confess!
“I’m gonna throw up,” he told Kwan through the bouquet of flowers he was clutching to his chest.
“No you’re not,” he reassured, “you know why?”
“Why…?”
“Because Danny Phantom is waiting for you!”
“...No he’s not? I haven’t told him yet.” Was this some kind of metaphor? He didn’t get metaphors.
“Huh? No, I meant, uh…” Kwan visibly struggled to salvage the conversation, “I meant kinda figuratively? Like… he’s waiting but he just doesn’t know it yet?”
Dash scratched his head, “I guess…?”
“...Whatever,” Kwan flapped his hands at him, shooing him toward the door, “go get in position and I’ll track him down, okay?”
“Alright. Good luck out there!”
“You too, Baxter,” Kwan called, waving optimistically over his shoulder.
Dash took a deep breath in, then out, both ways trembling, before finally turning and jogging off to the confession site.
---
If everything went right, the plan would go as following: Kwan tracks Phantom down after a fight and asks him- begs, if necessary, that the ghost come to Amity Park’s gardens for ‘something important.’ There was a trail of roses at the entrance, leading deeper in until it came to the secluded spot that Dash sat waiting on one of the fancy benches, wearing one of his Dad’s fancy jackets and his best clothes. Dash would stand, give him, the bouquet, and then his speech… and ask him out.
In theory it was fine… but now that he was here, it felt like he was gonna pass out. He went too far, didn’t he? The trail of roses was too much- way too sappy. And what the hell kind of bouquet was he even holding!? He’d tried to use flower meanings to his advantage, but now it looked like all the colors were clashing. There was way too much. It was actually kind of heavy- or was that just his nerves? Dash lowered the bouquet to rest in his lap and wiped his forehead with his forearm.
Oh god, was he going to sweat through his clothes? Was he about to confess to his only love while there were growing sweat stains under his pits? It was about time to call this off; it was fine, they could reschedule, Phantom popped up several times a day and-
Dash flinched as his phone buzzed in his pocket, alerting him to a text from Kwan. ‘Hes coming ur way!!!’ it read.
Dash scrambled to make himself look halfway decent, sitting ramrod straight on the edge of the bench. A second later he smacked himself and leaned back, trying to look confident. He threw his arm over the back of the bench, but second guessed it after remembering the sweat.
Just be polite, he snapped at himself, before settling back with his hands in his lap, bouquet leaning against his chest.
He liked it when the characters in his shows were nervous to confess, but absolutely hated it for himself. How did they deal with this?
Dash waited for about another five excruciating minutes before he caught a bit of movement in the corner of his eye and saw Phantom coming around the corner- he hadn’t even heard him coming, oh god.
The A-lister stood, quickly smoothing down his clothes. Phantom seemed to have been collecting the roses as he went, now holding a small handful of them close to his chest. There also seemed to be a nasty looking bruise on his neck, just barely visible thanks to the high neckline of his suit. When the ghost finally looked up and saw Dash having an internal crisis a ways away, his eyes went comically wide (actually that was really cute…).
“Phant-om,” he began, his voice cracking on the very first fucking word, “uh, first of all, I’m really, really happy you could meet me here. Second…” Dash trailed off; his nerves were frying his memory. He saw Phantom take a breath to speak and panicked, quickly thrusting the bouquet toward him. “This is for you!”
The ghost fumbled it for a second, what with already holding the other flowers he’d picked up along the way. The bouquet looked huge in his hands; it also looked prettier in his hands. Less child’s-hateful-crayon-art and more graceful-rainbow-over-the-sea.
Dash tried to take a steadying breath and spoke softly, “so I know you definitely have a lot of admirers… like a lot a lot, but… I decided that I couldn’t live without- that I couldn’t go on without at least trying. ” He felt a hot wash of shame at the slip up, but he couldn’t stop now, “I-I see you fight and you make me brave, I see you smile and my whole world lights up. You’re just- you’re beautiful and amazing and- and…” Dash finally made eye contact, remembering that confidence in these situations was important, when his mind blanked. Oh god- oh god- Phantom was blushing a green glow. That was kinda weird- actually nevermind- that was fucking adorable.
Phantom glanced away and laughed nervously, “Dash, I uh-”
“W-wait, let me finish,” he cut in quickly, in a bit of a panic, “please,” tacked unhelpfully onto the end. Phantom shifted awkwardly, but nodded; Dash would have missed the way he held the flowers a little closer to him, if not for the subtle crinkle of their wrapping.
He huffed and forced himself to continue, “the- the point is! ...It’s…” the script was a mess at this point… “it’s that you mean more to me than you’ll ever know and… I want you to go out with me. Please. I-...” he nodded with finality, blushing madly. He’d botched that so bad. He screwed up, hadn’t he? Oh god… Kwan was gonna be so disappointed in him…
Phantom took a deep breath and shifted the bouquet to one arm so he could rub the back of his neck. “...I, uh,” he began after awhile, “I really, really appreciate this, but,” Dash’s heart sunk in his chest- more realistically, actually, it hit the bottom of his stomach with a loud clatter. Phantom must’ve heard it, because he quickly went on, “a relationship with me of all would get really complicated really fast. I, uh, I don’t wanna pin that on anybody. Especially not you. Dash. So…”
Dash blinked stupidly for a second. “...You mean the ghost fighting? I know- I know! A-and I’m prepared for that! I thought it all out- you could go out and fight ghosts, no problem, but when you’re done, I’d be waiting for you back at home!”
Phantom gave him an odd look, “...home?”
“Oh, uh, yeah,” Dash fumbled, suddenly embarrassed again, “I figured you lived in the ghost zone or something and that you could just come to my place whenever we wanted to hang. ...That! Also! Solves the whole thing about you being super famous and all, y’know?” Dash began gesturing wildly, his nerves getting the better of him at this point, “you don’t even have to tell anybody we’re dating! I know everybody’d be super pissed if you did. This whole thing can just be our little secret!”
The ghost winced before he could cover it up, “about secrets… there’s a lot I can’t tell you. About myself. About ghosts. It’s just… Dash. You’re- you’re a great guy and all, but… a relationship with me would seriously be a bad move.” Dash was about to cut in, but Phantom talked over him, “can’t you do better than a secretive, dead guy, who fights other dead guys for a living? Your still in highschool. Uh, aren’t you? So- so at the very least, go and like… be with somebody that can actually contribute to the relationship.” He shrugged awkwardly, “or, I dunno, marry some rich dude and ride out life with money instead. Whatever suits you.”
Dash saw his chance and snagged it with both hands, “ you suit me,” he blurted.
Phantom gave him a look and Dash would’ve fainted right then and there if it weren’t for the telling blush that came with it (those piercing green eyes could give grown men heart attacks, honestly).
“That’s not- ugh. Dash-” Phantom huffed in frustration.
“No! Okay, listen up, Danny Phantom,” the ghost seemed to twitch at the use of his full name, “I think you’re fucking amazing! I’ve been a huge fan since you just started out saving people. And the day that we both got shrunk super puny and had to run around a lot- that was really really tiring, but not the point! That was the best day I ever had!” Was he shaking? He was definitely shaking; he was practically yelling at Amity Park’s hero to date him. “There’s nobody else that I would even dream of being with other than you! I- I’ve…
“I’ve fantasized this moment a thousand times.” Dash swallowed thickly and deflated. “And I just… it would make me so happy if you agreed to go out with me.”
Phantom looked terribly conflicted- maybe even a little dazed. The longer Dash looked at him, the more he started to notice how banged up he seemed. Oh, right; Kwan had pulled him right out of a fight, without even giving him a chance to go rest up. Dash was swamped with a sudden guilt- Phantom had dragged himself way out here to listen to his blabbering while all Dash had been worried about were sweat stains and color coordination… oh god.
Quickly, Dash began patting his pockets, some of his nerves finally falling away now that he realized how bad he’d fucked up. He pulled out an antiseptic spray and bandages before offering them to Phantom. “I’m so, so sorry- I didn’t think you’d actually be, like, hurt hurt…”
“What? It’s fine, it happens all the time, uh…” the ghost awkwardly set the bouquet on the bench (very gently…) and took both items.
Shit, the ghost. “Wait, do ghosts even use that stuff? Dammit, I’m sorry…!”
“Again, it’s fine, chill. Just… why do you carry these around with you?”
“...Uhhh-”
“Duh, nevermind, most haunted city in America. My bad.” Phantom devolved into mumbling as he tore off a bit of bandages and reached below his neckline to press it, presumably, to his collar bone. When he pulled back, the bandages were dripping with green. He tore off more and repeated the process.
Dash watched for a moment before the guilt finally overtook and any hope of romance steadily fell away. He shuffled to the bench and sat down with a long sigh. “You can keep those. And… and you don’t have to answer all my earlier stuff. Not now- and… well, I guess not ever. ...Though I doubt I’ll stop coming to your fights.”
Phantom watched him warily for a second before floating to the bench and sitting down as well, leaving the bouquet to rest between them.
This is where there would be some beautiful parallel drawn between love and their relationship or some such, but Dash sucked at poetry and he wasn’t anywhere near smart enough to make metaphors on his own. So he just looked around the garden while Phantom dealt with the wound.
“...I didn’t take you for the romantic type…” the ghost mumbled after awhile.
Dash found his face flushing slightly, “uh, yeah… it’s sorta my secret.”
“I didn’t take you for being, what, gay? Either.”
“I’m pansexual,” Dash watch the collection of wadded bandages glow a collective, soft green, “and yeah… I guess that’s my other secret. I’m part of the A-list at school- they’re the best of the best. Cream of the crop. We’re the cool kids. The best- ”
“I get it,” Phantom huffed, but didn’t seem upset at all.
“Uh, yeah, sorry. But yeah, I’d definitely get kicked out of the A-list if they knew about this stuff… well, my best friend knows, but he’s cool.”
Phantom hummed and they fell into silence. Dash felt like he should be apologizing, but he didn’t want to ruin this more than he already had. It’d just be a broken record anyway. He sort of wanted to go home and try to forget this ever happened (a lost cause), but he didn’t want to just ditch Phantom after all he’d suddenly sprung on the wounded ghost. That would just be downright unforgivable. Could he walk Phantom home? Was that possible?
Just when he was working up the courage to ask, Phantom spoke first, “what would you even want out of dating me?”
Dash blinked owlishly at him, though the ghost wouldn’t meet his eyes. “Uh, duh! You? I already said all that stuff about you being super cool and heroic and awesome and pretty, didn’t I?” Phantom seemed to choke a little at that last one; he’d have to remember that. “I just wanna get to know you and, like, do stuff with you and… y’know! Dating stuff! We could watch movies together late at night, we could kissss? We could, uh, share food, share stories, just… date! We could make each other happy and all that.”
Phantom seemed to visibly flounder for a long moment, having set aside the bandages in favor of resting his elbows on his knees and his chin in his hands. A scowl slowly stretched across his face until, finally, he groaned and leaned back into the bench. “...Y’know what,” he mumbled.
“What,” Dash parroted, even though he was pretty sure that was rhetorical. For some reason, his heart was pounding again.
“...I’ll date you,” Phantom mumbled, watching him out of the corner of his eye.
A grin broke across Dash’s face, but he had to slap a hand across it before he squealed in front of his crush like an idiot.

Cherry Blossom
Pairing: Bucky x f!Reader
Word Count: 4041
Summary: You and Bucky finally find the love you deserve. Underneath the cherry blossoms, everything is beautiful. -- What the two of them find is a fantastical real life dream of mine. I hope you think it’s as beautiful as I do.
Warnings: Mentions of death, but nothing graphically depicted. Should be edited more, but I literally could not read it again.
He sat on the steps of the back porch. She sat beside him. He hated that this place was so quiet now. It wasn’t supposed to be. It never was before. He looked over at the woman sat beside him and he could see it. The two of them together, happy, in this same place. He prayed she could see it too.
“When my grandparents first bought this place, there was hardly anything here. The house they’d bought was this tiny little dump, with rotted wood and broken windows. Mom has pictures. It’s amazing how different it looks now. Nana told me they liked the land, and that’s why they bought it. That the trees and the grass were perfect. That the air smelled just right.”
She looked over at the man she loved. She’d never seen him like this. It was almost solemn. A solemn yearning for something he didn’t yet have. She leaned her head on his shoulder and said, “Will you tell me about them? Will you tell me about this place?”
He looked down at her, this woman he loved enough to bring here, to this sacred place. He was unafraid with her beside him, “I’ll tell you everything. It’s a long story though.”
She grabbed his hand and squeezed it tight, “Don’t worry. We have time.”
He kissed her temple and her eyes fell closed. She looked out at the garden and said, “How did they first meet?”
“Well. He fell flat on his face in front of her.”
—
You weren’t sure if he’d noticed you, but you’d long since noticed him. You’d sit everyday at the picnic table by the cherry blossom trees. You could see the pond from where you sat, with it’s geese and frogs and lily pads. In the distance, where the birch trees grew, you could hear the sound of woodpeckers. It was the world’s most perfect spot.
You were a teacher, and so most days, after you changed out of your work clothes and went home to get a snack, you’d come sit in the park. You’d grade your papers there, watch the geese float in the water. The local geese were familiar with you now. They’d sit by you sometimes during the week, though mostly they kept their distance. On Sundays though, they’d flock to the shoreline when they saw you coming. You’d bring a big bag of rice and corn, and spread it across the ground. Sometimes they’d eat right out of your hand, especially Mister and Lady Goose. You’d fed them as goslings, and years later, they’d sit by your feet as you fed their goslings. You loved them, and you loved that park.
There we other picnic tables scattered throughout the park and around the pond, benches and lights lined the pathways. There were always people about, and that was how you first saw him. He ran through the park everyday. Morning and afternoon. You’d see him Sunday mornings while you fed the geese, and weekday afternoons while you graded. You’d watch him, hair tied back, long sleeved shirt. He was always sweating. His shirts were long, but he didn’t wear gloves. You paid enough attention to him to realize he had a prosthetic arm. He wasn’t trying to hide it completely, but he didn’t want to call attention to it either. It made you wish the world was kinder. Maybe then he’d be less afraid to show himself.
He’d noticed you of course. How could he not? You were there everyday, and were half the reason he kept running through that park, even though the path was old and cracking, raised in some parts, and not great if your goal was speed. Fortunately, his goal, at least by the pond, was a leisurely jog. The longer he jogged by the longer he could see you. Sometimes he’d stop there, drink some water, as if he really needed a water break, and pretend to take in the scenery before he went on his way.
You were usually working on something. Writing on papers, though he never knew what exactly. You were so beautiful and you didn’t even know it. Alone at that picnic table, you’d laugh out loud at something that you were reading. You’d put your face in your hands when it was really bad, shake your head before you continued writing. Sometimes a gust of wind would blow through the trees, and the cherry blossoms, and petals would swirl around you like you were their very center of gravity. You’d sometimes look up from your work, and watch the petals fall into the pond. You didn’t even notice the way they fell at your feet like an offering, and decorated your hair like they’d been destined to land there. You looked like a scene in a movie.
On Sundays, you’d feed the geese. This was amazing to him, not only because you’d get so close to those horrifying birds, but because you’d pet them too, paying no mind to the absurd amount of geese droppings you had to step around. The goslings would nuzzle at your feet, while their parents ate out of your hand. You weren’t like anything he’d ever seen.
The day you and Bucky met, it was a Friday afternoon. The sun fell softly across the pond and you didn’t have any work to do. You sat there, picking the cantaloupe out of your fruit cup so you could save the best for last, and reading a book on your phone. You could hear his steps as he came around the corner, and though you were usually pretty discreet, for the first time, you accidentally made eye contact. You were looking at him, and by God he was looking at you, and neither of you could stop. But with all his attention on you, he had no awareness of where he was going. He tripped right over the raised concrete and fell smack on his face, barely catching himself in time.
“Holy shit,” As soon as you saw him fall, you were out of your seat running over to him. He rolled over, groaning, hands holding onto his scraped up face.
“Oh my god, are you okay? You’re okay right? Oh goodness, lemme see please.” You grabbed onto his wrists and slowly pulled his hands away from his face. You could feel a little bit of resistance, but could also tell he was letting you do it.
He was a little scraped up, but looked mostly fine. The words slipped out as he said, “God, you're even prettier up close.”
You felt your face heat up. Nobody had ever said anything to you quite as sweet as that. He groaned again, pulling his hands back up to cover his face.
“Is this as embarrassing as it feels?” His voice came through muffled underneath his hands.
You smiled so bright and said, “Maybe a little, but it’s working in your favor. If it’s any consolation, I find it pretty charming.”
He pulled his hands away, looked up at you and said, “I can work with charming.”
You rolled your eyes at that and said, “That’s the line you’re going with? Really?”
He shrugged, “Yeah, not my best work.”
You shook your head, “No kidding.”
You stood up, and reached you hand down to help him up. He didn’t need the assistance, but he thought it was sweet of you to offer. You wiggled your fingers and said, “Well come on then, Prince Charming, time to get up.”
Once he was standing he brushed himself off and said, “So, Princess, what do you say?”
You were confused, “What do I say about what?”
“Sunday morning. Right about here. I’ll bring the coffee and cinnamon rolls?” He was a little nervous, but something in him just told him this was right.
You looked at him for a minute, arms folded across your chest. You’d hardly spoken, but somehow it already felt natural. Easy. Like when you run into a friend you haven’t seen for years, and fall right back into old patterns. Everything following a natural rhythm as if it had been that way all along.
“Cream, two sugars. Bring lots of napkins”
He smiled at that, “See you then, Princess.”
You rolled your eyes, but smiled as you two said goodbye, “You’re not really gonna stick with that nickname, are you? I mean, Princess? No originality. No flair.”
He barked out a laugh, “Okay. Alright. Listen, I see you in this park everyday. I have a nickname for all the park regulars. I can always call you that instead?”
“Oh God, is it even worse than Princess?”
“Maybe,” he said. “See you later, Chess.”
Your eyebrows and nose scrunched up in confusion, “Chess? I don’t play chess.”
He blushed, looked at his feet with a shy smile and said, “Well not chess like, chess chess. Chess like Duchess. Y'know cause, when the blossoms blow in the wind, and you’re sitting over at your table, it’s kinda like that scene from the movie y'know? The Aristocats? When O’Malley shakes the blossoms off the tree and they fall all pretty around Duchess. I thought that was kinda what you looked like, so.”
Your eyes were glassy, and you clenched your jaw to keep the tears from falling. No one had ever made you feel so beautiful. In a burst of courage, you leaned up and kissed his cheek, “See you Sunday, O’Malley. I’ll be waiting.”
—
“So that’s why there’s a Cherry Blossom Tree in the front yard?” She asked.
He looked out over the backyard and said, “Once the house was built, it was the first thing they did. There are pictures of Nana at the plant nursery, with this little tree in a pot. It was maybe five feet tall, a little bigger maybe, when they planted it. It’s been growing well over sixty years now. Closer to seventy maybe, not too sure on the math if I’m being honest.”
“Well what about the rest of this place? There’s so much here.”
“Nana used to say you could travel the Earth and never find somewhere with as much love as this place. When I was a kid I thought that of course there had to be somewhere else, but now that I’m older. Now that I’m back here, in this place, I know she’s right.”
He breathed in deep, wishing his grandmother were here to tell her the stories instead, “You see the gazebo?” He asked. “That gazebo is the reason this place happened the way it did.”
—
It was quiet in your bedroom. In the late hours of the night, a Nuwave Air Fryer infomercial played in the background. The tv was muted, but with your head on his chest, the sound of his heartbeat was all you needed.
Bucky’s prosthetic was wrapped around your waist, and the cool of the metal was a nice contrast to his body heat. With his other hand, his fingertips drew lines on your back. That behavior, rhythmic and comforting, like the beat of his heart. The assurance that came with the feel of his fingers tracing up and down and back up again in time.
This was all you’d ever wanted. This peace that came from laying beside someone you loved wholly and entirely. Someone who loved you back. In that bed, in that moment, a sort of quietude took root. You had grown so used to the cruelty of men that to be shown such raw love, such unashamed kindness, from this man brought to you an ease you’d never known. It was strange. It felt like it had always been this way. Like something inside of you always knew you would end up here. You knew he felt the same.
“Hey, Chess?” He said, his voice fell over you like the comfort of a familiar blanket.
“Yeah, Buck?”
“It’s the same for you, right? You feel it the same?”
You patted his stomach, “Yeah, Buck. I do.”
His arm that ran up and down your back stopped for a minute. He took his hand, and turned your face up so you were looking at him, “Will you marry me?”
You smiled up at him. That sweet bedtime smile he was so fond of, “Only if you marry me back.”
The side of his mouth turned up, and he ran his hand through your hair, “Ok, I promise I will.”
You kissed his chest, and knew that this was right. Some people had grand proposals. Elaborate secrets, everything carefully timed, so someone could ask the person they love to be with them forever. And that’s beautiful – for them. It’s what’s right for their marriage, and for each other. But you didn’t want that, and neither did Buck. It felt right this way. The two of you, together as you would be always. You’d sleep like this every night for the rest of your lives, and it felt more special this way. Like there wasn’t a question at all. Like this was always how it would be. Like something inside of him always knew he would end up here. He knew you felt the same.
He reached over with his hand to the nightstand, head turning as much as it could to see what he was doing, opened the drawer, and pulled out a little box. He opened it with one hand, and held the box close to you so you could get a good look.
He felt his chest start to get wet, quiet tears falling down your face. You didn’t say anything, just kissed his chest again, and picked your left hand up off his stomach and held it up for him. He took the ring out of it box, and slipped it onto your finger. It fit just right.
He put the box back on his nightstand, and started running his fingers up and down your back again. You burrowed into him as close as your bodies would let you, “Let’s get a house, now. One with lots of windows.”
You and Bucky had long since talked about what you wanted in the future. A house, somewhere quiet, but not too quiet. Kids, who would run around. Children who you could show everyday how beautiful this world could be. You’d take them to the park where you first met every Sunday, and feed the geese under the cherry blossoms.
Bucky’s words came right in step with yours, “A big backyard, with lots of grass. When the kids come, me and Sam can build them a jungle gym.”
“With a swing set. I loved the swings when I was a kid. I still love the swings.”
Bucky nodded, “With a swing set.”
“We can have a wrap around porch. One with a porch swing, and we can sit on it together. Maybe we can grow a vegetable garden. With lots of basil and rosemary. Maybe hot peppers, and tomatoes. Behind it we can grow an apple tree. We’ll cook all the time, sometimes with the stuff we’ve grown ourselves.”
“I want a plum tree too. Some blueberry bushes. Or a strawberry patch in the front yard. And I want a big kitchen. Something nice, with all kinds of pots and pans, and a walk-in pantry. One day we’ll teach the kids to make cookies there.” Bucky said smiling.
“With granite countertops. The kind that you have to Windex to keep clean.”
It went quiet for a moment, before you spoke again, only a little hesitant this time, “What if we... What if we got married there? We could... We could build a gazebo in the backyard. Do it up with lights and flowers. Invite just the people we love. We’d get married right there. Maybe have our first dance inside there too, or something. That way there’d be nowhere more special than our home. We could sit on the steps of the back porch, and for the rest of our lives we’d look out at that gazebo and remember. We could dance there all the time and know that no place in the world had known more love. And one day, growing up with the pictures on the walls, having seen the old videos, one of our kids will want to get married there too. If we’re real lucky.”
You looked up at Bucky, after realizing you’d gone off on quite a fantastical tangent. He was already looking at you, silent tears rolling down his face.
“Our wedding night could be the first night we spend in our new home. I’d carry you into the house. We could... we could plant a cherry blossom tree in the front yard.”
You couldn’t hold back your smile, and neither could he. He laughed through tears, too full of joy to keep it in.
“I love you, James.”
“I love you, Y/N.”
—
“Your grandparents really got married here?”
“Yeah. I can show you the pictures when we go back inside. I told you this place was a dump when they bought it. They had a lot of help fixing it up, but when they did, this was where they got married. Uncle Steve got married here too. So did Aunt Becca. Mom and Dad were never married, but that’s probably for the best, since they separated anyways. I wonder if mom knew it might happen. Didn’t want to taint this place.”
Your grandson took a moment to breathe before he kept talking, “Even with how mom and dad turned out though, I never doubted that love was real. So many of my friends who grew up with divorced parents came out of it so scarred. With this fear of love and marriage, like it was always destined to go wrong. But Nana and Grampy always loved each other. When we were little, we’d sleep over, and run around in the yard while they sat together on the porch. I can still hear their laughter echoing throughout the house. I rarely ever saw them argue. And mom says, when they got angry at each other when she was a kid, they’d walk away, and stay apart for the rest of the day. They’d dance in the gazebo that night, and mom says it was like the anger had never been there at all. Like, when they came back together in that place, they agreed to let it wash away with every step.”
“They must’ve been incredible.” She said in awe.
“They were. Not without their faults, of course, but they were really something,” he took a deep breath. “You know, Uncle Steve owns this place now. When Nana passed, Grampy couldn’t take it. They were both in their nineties, but Grampy had more years in him still. But without Nana it was like he didn’t wanna do it anymore. He wanted to be with her again so bad. But when I close my eyes, I can still feel them here. See them dancing, hear their laughter. I’d sit between them on the porch swing sometimes, and listen to them tell stories. It’s like, those stories are still in the walls. Just waiting for new ones to be created.”
He looked over at the woman he loved, and stood up with his hand held out. Come with me.”
“Where are we going?” She asked.
“My favorite spot here,” he said.
—
Your kids were growing so fast. Steve was nearly 15 now and it all felt so strange and wonderful to see them grow. Becca had just turned 13, and your youngest, Winnie, turned ten not long after. It hurt in the best way possible, and there was nothing that could have prepared you for that feeling.
You and Bucky sat on the porch swing, looking out at your Cherry Blossom. It was so big now. It would keep growing of course, but compared to the little thing it was when you first got it, you could hardly believe what it had become. Where had the time gone?
You curled into Bucky and sat quietly. Music played over your speakers, softly in the background, and he hummed along.
“Hey, Buck. I got a stupid idea. You on board?” You looked up at him, mischief on your mind.
“Always, Chess.”
“Okay, stay here, I’ll be right back.”
You went through the front door, giggling. Steve was sitting on the couch as you passed through the living room, and for some reason, it made you feel like you’d been caught.
“Mom, what are you doing?”
You slowed your pace and said, “Nothing. Mind your business, nosey butt.”
You made it into the kitchen, and began giggling again. You went to where your purse sat on the counter, and rummaged around till you found your pocket knife.
Walking back outside, trying to appear very normal as you passed a very suspicious Steve in the living room, you sat back down on the swing. You flicked open the knife and looked at Bucky with the smile that always meant trouble, “Ready?”
You wiggled your eyebrows at him, and he laughed at you, “What the hell do you plan on doing with that?”
You closed the knife for the time being, grabbed his hand, and said, “Just follow me, Buck.”
He shook his head as you dragged him up and over to the Cherry Blossom tree, where you opened your knife again.
He leaned against the side of the tree watching you as you began to carve a heart into the bark, “Are you seriously carving out initials into this tree like we’re a pair of pre-teens.”
You smiled at him, “Obviously.”
He shook his head, but looked at you like you were the moon, “You are so impossibly dumb.”
You laughed at that, “Yeah, I know. Married you didn’t I?”
He rolled his eyes as if annoyed, but you knew better, “Ha ha, you’re so funny.”
You had finished the heart and began carving your initials. When you finished, you handed Bucky the knife, and he carved his own. When he finished he closed the knife, and kissed you softly.
Inside, Steve, knowing something was up had called his sisters. All three kids sat watching from the front window. Once you kissed, they all pulled away rolling their eyes. Winnie said, “Do they always have to do that?”
Steve shrugged, “Better that than the opposite, I guess.”
Becca nodded, “Still gross though.”
“Oh, yeah definitely,” Steve said. “Definitely gross.”
Outside, you and your husband looked at each other. In that moment, it was all you needed.
—
“See, look,” Your grandson said standing underneath the blossom branches. “I used to come out here as a kid, and trace my fingers along their initials. Nana told me she thought it was like something out of an old movie. I just thought it was special.”
He watched as the woman he loved traced her fingers gently around the heart and over its letters, “It’s beautiful.”
The wind blew by, and the petals fell from the trees. He knew, this is what his grandpa felt when he saw his grandma in the park. He understood why he called her Chess right up to the day she died. Cause right here, right now, the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen looked up at the petals as they fell. She looked ethereal. Blissful. Soft and dreamy. Just like Duchess.
She was too busy looking at the petals to notice him drop to one knee. When the wind finally stopped and she went to look at the love of her life, she froze. There he was, so handsome, down on one knee. Her hand came over her mouth as he said, “I love you so much. I love you more than I’ve ever loved anything, and if you let me, I’ll love you till the day I die... Uncle Steve agreed to sell me this house. We could live here, if you want. Get married, just like my grandparents. There would be so much love here. I want to share it with you, if you’ll let me.”
She fell to her knees, kissed him fiercely, and without an ounce of hesitation said, “Yes.”
